As the topic states itself: What is and/or used to be your favorite generation of the pokemon? And if you wish to post as well, in particular out of the generation what was your favorite. Please try to keep the favorites to a maximum of 20 or less, no further, as it would then promote you do not have specifics on your favorite, which is common with me so I mean no harm in what I say. My favorite Generation of Pokemon right now is honestly black and white since there was more of a story that went with it than the other versions, at least one that seemed more original compared to the others.

I loved the second generation of games, since there was just so much exploration to be done. I'm sad that none of the successive games have been able to match it save for HeartGold/SoulSilver.As far as favorite Pokemon though, I'd have to stick with Charizard for all-time favorite. My 2nd gen favorite was Ampharos. Torchic or Blaziken for 3rd gen, probably Snivy for 4th gen, and none for 5th. I never really ended up bonding with any of my Pokemon in Black/White and I don't think I ever really got the hang of it. 5th gen is probably my least favorite so far.

I go old school, Kanto (Red, Blue, Yellow, LeafGreen, FireRed) but I liked a handful of pokemon in each generation (2nd: Hitmontop, Entei 3rd: Metagross, Blaziken, Garchomp 4th: Rhyperior, Gallade, Magmortar, Magnezone 5th: Dewott, Chandelure, Hydreigon)

I just like Pokemon...lets leave it at that!

I like the second gen Pokemon games as it was a much longer adventurer and a lot of my favorite Pokemon come from that generation.

2nd gen for me.

They just hit all the good notes in that game for me. It was bigger, the pokemon looked like their anime counterparts just look at this atrocious sprite (kudos to anybody actually recognizing this one):



The typing was fixed as well, the game was a lot more accessible as a whole due to some really good tweaks to the system and a day and night cycle. To top it all off, you could go to the region of the previous game and eventually battle yourself.

I actually cringed when gen 3 came around. It took everything I liked from gen 2 and threw it down the drain. I was really happy that I could relive the experience somewhat with gen 4. Hence it's my second favorite.

I really didn't mind the third generation at all. I like the Hoenn region, it had a cool variety of newer Pokemon. Biased opinion. But, i might've like Hoenn more, because Pokemon Emerald was my favorite Pokemon game

I logged over 200 hours into that game. But, it's also the fact that i've never played any other Pokemon game before that. Except Ruby

My favorite is Second Gen because there is another story after the Elite Four, although my favorite Pokemon are Joltik and Galvantula.

Gen 3 was my favorite gen. Probably because I started with it.

Going to have to say Gen IV is my favorite. I love the pokemon in the region, and the characters were a lot better then previous generations.

Kanto: Mew, Wartortle
Jhoto: Quilava, Heracross, Tyranitar
Hoenn: Sceptile, Mudkip, Seviper, Crawdaunt, Metagross
Sinnoh: Piplup, Luxray, Lucario, Garchomp<3, Toxicroak<3, Togekiss, Glaceon,
Unova: Serperior, Reuniclus, Galvantula, Hydregion, Durant-> Durantula, and Volcarona

Definitely 2nd gen. So much nostalgia!! And I love Pokemon like Lugia, Crobat, Hitmontop, and Ampharos. And Corsola too for some reason.
