Second Generation all the way. When it comes to gameplay, I think the second generation was an improvement. The following generations didn't have as much of an improvement, but instead had useless things like pokemon contests. Besides, the second generation has both the kanto and johto regions.

Second Gen!
Silver version was my first pokemon game ever so it's sort of a nostaligia kinda thing.
But I really did love this gen for more reasons; mainly the fact that in second gen games, you could go back to kanto and fight there.

1st Generation, the best story line in my opinion in the anime.

I remember having the most fun with the first two gens. I don't know... They just feel better. You know what I mean? Separating the Defense stat in Phys. Def. and Spec. Def. added a new strategic touch to battles, that would stay until today. Also, I remember kicking so much ass with my Silver team (only used 5 Pokemon): Typhlosion, Blissey, Snorlax, Scizor and Tyranitar.

Of all the Pokemon games that are in cirrculation I've only played Red, Blue, Yellow, and Pearl...so I really only know of the monsters from those games...

Gen 1 : Zapdos, Golem (I don't even know WHY...), Blastoise, Venasuar, Dragonite, Haunter, and Gengar.
Gen (Don't even know the number...) : Giratina (never been able to catch it legitly because of the stupidly low capture rate and the fact that I didn't have any more master balls left...)

Correct my spelling if it's wrong...

Will always be Gen II. Just the right amount of Pokémon, and was quite expansive with collecting all 16 badges and having a few side quests in Kanto. I had 244 PKMN in Crystal... of course I missed the Celebi event, plus had no GS. Get it? Gameshark? GS Ball? lol

I liked the second Gen for having 16 different gyms and introducing the dark type bomb against the psychics and ghosts. (even though I prefer electric) but since they broke a lot of the pokemons usefulness in more recent generation it really hurts what is useful from it. What I like the most about every pokemon game that had a story mode (that includes the gamecube games) is that they all were based on different parts of our current world. Johto and Kanto obviously being parts of Japan. but Orre(or however it was spelled) (gamecube) was western USA, and the new Kalos region is France.

I love the third generation because of its story line. I love the contest and this makes me funny. I can build many sets of team either battling teams or contest teams. These are reasons why I love this generation.
