I tried the challenge on Pokémon Fire Red. It was cool and everything, but I remember my frustration having some pokémon faint when I was training them with wild pokémon, so I couldn't finish it. Now if I play a pokémon from GBA/GBC, I only play hardcore: If your pokémon faints, then it's goodbye, but you can choose which pokémon to catch and train.

I tried one in Pokemon Sapphire and failed at Norman/Dad's gym. His Slaking was the end of me.

I love a good nuzlocke challenge, last time I used heart gold. I didn't lose a single pokemon due to being way to careful and overtraining. Kinda easy once you get to the end with lvl 100 pkrsed Pokemon due to luck of the draw and special breading to have the pkrs from the very beginning of their training >.> I've been really lucky with pkrs for some reason.

I did one for Pokemon Emerald and used a randomizer that changed all of the wild encounters and starters to well random. It was very interesting seeing legendaries in the first grass area (3 of them), regice as a starter(DO NOT USE ANY REGI's all have explosion and only that), some weird streak of luck and pokerus. I actually even manage to get a real kickass team which I only remember having Metagross, Umbreon, Espeon and Milotic.

I Nuzlocked with 6 Eevees in Diamond. I hate the Eevee family haha, they have such a limited movepool.

Nevertheless, I love Glaceon and Leafeon - they're the only reason I was able to survive until Flint's Rapidash pwned my sheeit. I usually overtrain and play way too cautiously, but I had fun with it this time, and was usually right at the same level as my opponent's pokemon.

I've made a few attempts at Nuzlocking, and even altered the rules because I'm naturally terrible at training... hehe... But I did later end up creating my own challenge that could be even /more/ challenging if done a certain way.

Eventually I get attached to whoever dominates everything and it makes me sad when they die :'(

Sometimes they don't, but usually they die

I just started a Nuzlocke in a randomized Platinum.  I got a Budew for my starter and I have wild Hippopotas in the grass right outside of Sandgem town.  I also have one going in a randomized Fire Red, where I have a Geodude as my starter and I caught a Snorlax just on the other side of Viridian City.

I only tried it once with Fire Red. I was doing really well too, and had quite a great team. Then when I decided to go to Diglett cave, my first/last encounter was against a lv 29 Dugtrio (and my highest was like lv 20 at the time). It was a total slaughter because I was trying to catch it.

It was fun until that point though, so I may try it with HG/SS
