I'm sure this is a dupe topic, but anyway.
If i had to choose. I'd have to go with an old classic. Some of the best classic games for the old Psx. My favorite is the Legend of the Dragoon. That's probably the most satisfying game you will ever play. The story line was fun and fulfilling, It also had a pretty awesome attack system as well.

Bioshock, the steampunkish/underwater world was really memorable and concept of what went wrong was a very interesting topic to explore.

That's hard to say as my tastes do change and that games are added as we go through more gaming generations. I would have to make a favorite game per system, which even then could I narrow down my choices a bit. I can't really choose the best ever, really, too many good things. I've made a list of things though which hopefully will allow me to stay on topic, nonetheless.
The game(series) I've spent the most time on is Pokemon(To avoid a lot of Pokemon it will be noted once here) .
Some games I enjoyed the story of but are not limited to:: Final Fantasy Tactics, Nier, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3,Fallout: New Vegas(Lonesome Road, specifically) Persona 3, Catherine, Okage: Shadow King, Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Chrono Trigger & Cross
Some of my favorite gameplay but not limited to:: Catherine, Persona 3, Shooter games usually, Fable(series), Disgaea(series)
Some of my favorite environments but not limited to:: Elder Scrolls(series), Borderlands, Silent Hill(series), Fable(series), Minecraft(technically), Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Bioshock(series)
Some of my favorite Lore in games but not limited to:: Silent Hill(series), Fable(series), Final Fantasy(series, Most any of them), Breathe of Fire: Dragon Quarter

Hmm...Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core for PSP. It is the only other game I ever completed for a portable gaming console or any console for that matter. The other game being Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories for Gameboy Advanced.
But the funnest game I've ever played is probably going to have to be Valkyria Chronicles 2 for PSP.

Super mario bros.
This game simply defined my childhood. Although I started out with the apple 2 and other atari games, this is the game that I spent a year playing with my brother and has really gotten my appetite into gaming. I'll still remember that moment when I finished world 1-1 and mastering the jump while holding the run button thingy.

Well In my opinion the best game ever made....Id say it would be Dungeons and Dragons...since video game was never specified ^^.
It is the most expansive, flexible, ever changing game, and be it you have a good group and a good DM its a game you will never have the same experience in.
I am currently in a Pathfinder group and I must say it is the most fun I've had.
Though if I am to choose a game....before the n64 I would have to say Super Mario RPG, or Final Fantasy VI. For N64..I'd say golden eye of Banjo kazooie.
Best of all time though? well probably the game Series that owns a lot of my time so the Elderscrolls.
