does anyone agree that for the most part, rap is meaningless?
music is a large part of my life and i believe that is does not exist to entertain people, it exists so that people can express themselves and be open to new things.
please post a comment if you agree with me
if you don't tell me why

ya-i agree, oh wait, im agreeing with myself

first your not funny, second some raps are meaningless but not all of them, like Eminem first songs like 8-mile road and when im gone, and theres also 50-cent he had some rap songs which are great and theres mike shinda's songs like Hands Held High and that defiantly it wasn't meaningless!

i disagree completely. most of the rappers that started years ago had meaning to almost all of their songs. even the underground rappers have meaning to their songs. the rappers you see now like that started no more than 5 years ago are the ones you may be referring to. so if you wanna try to make a somewhat valid point i suggest you listen to old school rap and try to make a valid point.

I personally dislike the style of music, but that is just my personal taste.

As for rap not having a meaning in their music, definitely wrong. Most music express something out of them. Obviously there are many exceptions to the rule, but you must never put together the bad and the good and tag them all as bad.

Ones that have no meaning are great
They're boring but catchy so they set you a good pace for your homework.

Eminem has meaning. So much infact, that i couldn't understand a thing -_-

So...Did you create this topic to be inflamatory or have you never heard what the kids today call trance and dance music? Or chiptune?

At least rap has got words and had an important social impact on america.

Flava Flav wasn't always a joke.(well he was to some of us)

Yes, most of it now days is meaningless rants and obscenity. I would hardly call most of it music, more like poetry to a beat.

Most rap isn't too good, but several artists deliver quality lyrics and meaningful ides through their music.
