Death's a mug's game. I won't have any part in it.

Besides, if there aren't any games that you might want just yet, I'm sure something in the future will come out.

Fun little fact: The American Optometric Association is saying that 3D technology may actually have a beneficial effect on children's eyes. According to them, 3D technology forces the eyes to work together, so playing a 3D game can help determine if there is a problem with communication between the eyes and brain that can later lead to more serious eye problems.

I am debating about purchasing one as well, I think I may wait until the 3ds XL (don't care about 3D, just the bigger screen) releases in Canada, but upon further research I may say screw the 3ds and just buy a DS and save over 100 bucks :/
You and me both. I'm also going for the 3DS XL due to the big *** screen itself (was actually thinking about getting a DSI XL two years back, but couldn't save money from my job to get one) so playing DS games on it would be a blast.
The 3DS being worth the money depends on how big of a fan you are of nintendo. Course the latest mario and kid icarus itself is a console buyer factor for me. The 3D is more of a bonus for me and I'm seeing myself just imply turning it on just to simply wow the people around me if I'm playing this in the office (add the bigger screens to the wow factor as well).
I don't have any underage porn or hentai on my profile.

pros you get the 3DS shopping center to buy games a coupel of example i can give is like Fire emeblem Sacred Stones, Zelda Four sword, Mario Cart, and ect. you also also i feel the connection you get with the wifi on it is better in not only the ds wireless but also when it connects to the internet wifi. The 3D effect gives the gaem a whole other level of awsomeness but the down side ot it is after awhile it can begin to hurt your eyes (con). also with it having a joystick on it makes it for me at least easier to contorl some of the stuff i do and it can be used when playing a non-3DS game. i will say this is more of a bias pro for my because i have a HUGE nostalga for this game but the fact i have Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the go is AWESOME and it has Master Quest on it(reason why i got the 3DS)
Cons, the 3D effect i mentioned earlier, the large amount of money to buy it but they have had a price drop on it so its more affordable, and that there not too many games out for it at the moment
overall unless your like me and when a game comes out you absoultly must have even if you dont have system (sad thats me lol) i would say wait to get it until you have a couple of games for the 3ds you would want to get and when you get it get the one with a price drop on it the 3DS XL is nice and all but the fact taht when release it was $50 cheaper when it came out and places (like Gamestop) took your old 3DS and gave you $120-130 trade in for it says something

i'd wait for one of those package deals that comes with a game and maybe some other sales bonus, if we're talking about just waiting
at the moment there are fun games to be had but it's not ds volumes yet by a long shot
ofc all i really needed was harvest moon 3ds heheheh
as for the 3d being gimmicky the real attraction is the increased graphical power
and believe it or not the graphics are actually clearer when you turn the 3d on, as if there's a subtle level of depth capable of expressing visual detail beyond that which we have now, and what we obviously perceive when things "pop out" from earlier iterations of 3d technology
it's hard to explain on simple terms though

Depends on what kinda games you like. I only have a handful right now, like Mario 3D Land, Tales of the Abyss, Mario Kart 7 and Harvest Moon A New Beginning. The Mario games are some of the best I've ever played and the new Harvest Moon might be my favourite along with Friends of Mineral Town/Back to Nature. The Tales game is alright, but I've never had a chance to play it before because it never came out in Europe. A big plus of both Sony's and Nintendo's handhelds is definitely that they're regionfree.
Now I personally would get the 3DS XL right now, those big screens look great and it's only like 20-30 bucks more. I don't really think there's a point in getting a DS because it's backwards-compatible to it and will get a ton of new games in the upcoming years.

i have a ds lite and a 3ds; the original one not the new one with the better processor. I only have a few games on my 3ds and play it much less than my ds lite. i probably bought more games for my ds lite too. there just aren't enough games on the 3ds to keep me interested. i liked the touch screen games like trauma center, phoenix wright, etc. they don't have a lot of those for the new ds. I also play my ds more because the 3ds has horrible battery life. I can get a few hours on my 3ds with the 3d turned off, but I can play for maybe 12 hours on my ds lite. I turned off both consoles and they were both fully charge. After about 6 months of not turning it on, my 3ds batter was completely drained and my ds lite still had about half the battery left. my ds lite is about 7 years old so that says a lot about the battery life of the 3ds.
