Hey there, so I've started playing BW and was looking to modify some things just to screw around with the game but I cannot get pokesav to work....
I used pokesav before and tried to do the same thing but it didn't work.
Here's my process: Save in game, then you have to export save file, open the export save file in pokesav and then modify and save it. But then, I can't open that save file in BW...
Anyone have an idea of how to use pokesav properly?

Remember to "Import Save File" after saving it in Pokesav!

There is no option for that 
I opened the game and did FILE > Export Backup Memory and it saves as a .SAV file. > Using the PokeSav, I can open the file and edit it. > I save the changes. > But I can't open it in DeSmuME..

Go to DeSmuME and load the ROM. Then go to File -> Import Backup Memory, and select the save that you have modified with pokesav.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to promote hack ROM's and feel free to edit my post if this is the case but may I suggest to the original poster that there is a hack available called Pitch Black / Pure White which I swear to god Im in the middle of now and its absolutely amazing. Playing these hack rom's means there is no need for you to use stuff like pokesav whatsoever. and since your using an emulator and not trading with other trainers whom might not like the fact that you can get all 600+ pokemon, its not morally wrong to do so.
Basically its a hack of BW which means that it is possible to collect them all without trading, but also a tougher challenge. I can tell you now the faceroll 4 attack moves simply wont cut it in this game, Ive lost so many battles in this its not even funny! Its made for older gamers who enjoy the series and rather a challenge rather than facing what a 5yr old can beat. And just because it is possible to get all the pokemon doesnt mean its easy either.
Without taking this unnecessary rant further I just highly recommend dowloading it, works perfectly on DesMUme 0.9.8, perfect fps etc.

I did that, but then it goes back to the start screen and the only options there are "NEW GAME", "MYSTERY GIFT" , "MIC settings "WIFI settings" nothing for resume game.

I could be wrong since its been a wile since I did something like this on DeSmuME (imported my final fantasy tactics advance 2 save from no$gba so I could load it up with the first one in the gba slot to get libra.... witch I than never used...) but I'm fairly certain you have to reset the game after you import it for the save to take effect.
