-Regenerating health system
-Easier Trophy/Achievements
-Unskippable Cutscenes
-Simple control mechanics
-Couple of QTE (Quick-Time Event) Commands
-Shorter time to play
I'm not so sure about these. I get those games with those kind of cliche. Do you know any more of classy cliche in video games?

Honestly speaking, I don't want to launch a flame war on CoD and Battlefield since it's going to be hell cooling them off. I'll just write off some common stuff in some FPS.
- Majority of the shooting games has been usiing CoD's health regen system. It makes most shooting games quite easy to play.
- Cutscenes. Can't we just skip those unnecessary cutscenes?
- Rated C for Corniness. Yes, Majority of the cutscenes are spent on useless expositions. I agree on cussing. They make cussing look like a normal words to say.
- Difficulty reduction. Anybody who plays many games in PS2 in the past can tell some games are hard despite on normal. It was fun until they make normal difficulty look like normal-easy.

I have noticed a few things like this myself. Mainly the games are easier and you can't skip the cut scenes. Dumbing down the difficulty is one that has really pissed me off but not being able to skip the cut scenes? That's not so bad, that's like skipping pages in a book. Many people put a lot of hard work into creating the story of these games and many more people have to find a way to animate them without being flawed. I say just take a couple of minutes to watch the videos, it's not like they're ever that long unless you're playing Metal Gear Solid and even then you have to watch the cut scenes to understand what is going on. But that's the end of my ranting.
What i have really noticed that many games are doing these days is using the same generic story. Especially in wartime shooters. Battlefield 3 is a prime example of the stereotypical america gets attacked, we fight back, we lose a few men/ brothers, yada yada yada its been done and redone, if you want to redo the same thing right spread it out like call of duty did in the modern warfare series. Make us feel something towards the characters, build a bond.

The problem with not being able to skip cutscenes is that, in many games, you may have to do a particular portion multiple times before you make it through. If you have to watch the same exact scene every single time, that can get really annoying. You shouldn't skip them the first time, I agree, but after that? You should definitely be able to.

Rant 1: Cutscenes
I think you should totally be able to skip cutscenes any playthrough, because who knows? You could be startings a new save, or playing on a different console, or heck, maybe you just don't give a crap about the story. Instead you have to get up and take a dump just to give you something to do while you wait for the cutscene to pass. Imagine playing through Metal Gear Solid 4 which has around 8 hours worth of cutscenes (granted MGS4 is a badass game and you should defintely watch them once) and having to watch them with each consecutive playthrough. Now wouldn't that just be wasting so many hours of your life?
Rant 2: Multiplayer
I love games that include co-op or some form of online play if well executed. Borderlands 2? Steller. Dead Space 3? Radical. Dead Island? Forget Multiplayer that whole game is broken, but you get the picture. If the game has a well executed well it can be incredibly entertaining, but if it isn't it is just another gimmick to try and draw in a larger audience. The ugly truth is that a lot of games are more successful without them. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a perfect example showing that you don't need to include multiplayer to make a blockbuster. Now with the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls Online, we will see how a series has always been singleplayer fares in the multiplayer world. I personally don't like it, at all. All the things that I loved about the Elder Scrolls you cannot do in ESO. ( I have been through 3 Beta Sessions) Some games are better left Singleplayer.
Rant 3: MOTHER F***ING PAY TO WIN
Ok, Online passes I get. Somebody buys a used game, and the developer gets nothing (but Gamestop sure does) so buy having online passes for used games this allows the developer to still get a little money for the game. (Some games people buy to play online) But when they include 5 guns usable to the player and the other 25 are 99c each? That is a load of horse manure, and oftentimes these items are even included on the disc, but the only way to unlock them is to pay an additional fee on top of what you already paid? NO. Or equally as bad, when they make things pay to unlock early, but they make it abysmally hard/long to unlock it legitimately. This trend became very popular on mobile devices, but now it is being seen on consoles (Yeah EA F*** YOU).
Alright, I'm done. I can't tell if I am a little relieved or even more pissed off, but anyway thanks for listening.
