I don't think either console is better than the other. Which you buy depends on what you're going to use it for and how much money you're willing to spend on it. If you can afford the fee for Xbox Live and you want to play online shooters and such, I'd say Xbox 360. Its controller is much better suited for shooters and action games. If you tend to play mostly racing games, roleplaying games, and platforming games, OR you don't think you'll have the money for Xbox Live, then get the PS3. Both systems have amazing games and good services, they just have different areas of specialization.

Well, you have to put into consideration that Playstation came before Xbox, so there's always that factor of a longer commitment to Sony. But Xbox has great games and AI, but PS doesn't really have good AI if I'm correct-go with Xbox. Only in gaming are you allowed to be a follower.

As stated before it does depend on your situation/playstyle. I personally prefer xbox over ps3, but I can't ignore the fact that the ps3 1.) Doesn't have a tray for games (which is amazing). 2.) Plays blu-ray. 3.) Has free online capabilities. 4.) Internet. Xbox on the otherhand has a long standing track record of being product of microsoft, which in itself is a good investment. Sony did have their system hacked and abused not too long ago. All in all, which ever one you can see yourself having more fun on/easier on the wallet is the way to go.

I don't think there is a best console, but I think PS3 offers the best deal (price, features, etc.) to the average person.

yeah this is a very touchy subject cuz the fanboys will jump on both arguments. i say the graphics are the same for both systems (some games look better for one then the other), honestly i say choose which console has the exclusive games that u like thou that line is slimming down.

The Playstation network hacking was not as detrimental as you think. All that was hacked was the account login server and only some usernames and passwords were hijacked. Credit card numbers and what not were stored in a different, more secure server. Now that doesn't say that playstation network is easy to hack, all it says is that Sony didn't think to far ahead when they made it.

The controller thing is a non-issue because on the PS3 there are Xbox 360 style/shaped controllers available. same with how the Wii can use Playstation 2 controllers if you have the right devices. (ps2 to gamecube or ps2 to wiimote connector cable.)

As for the games looking better on one system over the other, that is not an issue of whether the system has more power, it's a matter of which system the game was originally written for because all they do is recompile them with control changes programmed in to match the system it is compiled on. So if the game was originally written for a PS3 then compressed and compiled for xbox360 then of course the Xbox version is going to not look as good because the ps3 has more data room on it's media. but if it's a xbox360 game recompiled for PS3, the game won't look any better but the controls will likely be less responsive or less intuitive due to the way the ps3 controllers analog shoulder triggers and the way the analog sticks are set. An even worse example is if the game is set up for xbox and going to the Wii, How do you make a game that has a controller in mind work with a wii's control set? Usually that ends very badly in control and graphics. That is why Wii versions tend to use different game engines I figure.

Usually though between xbox360 and PS3 the only thing you gain from PS3 is the possibility of less compressed textures and audio. All that comes from the higher data space on the BluRay, but you already knew that didn't you?

Now I am not a Sony fanboy, just wanted to set the record straight on that one. I would personally get the PS3 because of the utility of the system and lack of extra costs beyond the device for subscriptions and what not. The main thing I would want the xbox360 is for the Forza games. That is it for the reason for Xbox360, It really is all a matter of what games you are looking for. if you don't find the exclusives for one system appealing, then get the other one. Always check the exclusives. that is where your choice should be based. My rule of thumb for video games is the system must be reasonably priced, have all the features I expect in a game system, and have at least 10 exclusive games that I would want to have.

To tell you the truth I think this topic was just created to incite rage in the way that trolls tend to do.

Each system has its ups and down. For example ps3 gets the play station network for free so you can play with other people online, the down side is that game like halo are not available for the ps3. The down side to xbox where as is that you have to pay for xbox live which can be every six months or twelve months and so on. It is up to u to deside

honestly, as a (previous) owner of both consoles, i preferred the ps3 to the 360, due to the free psn, and the ability to use the internet (my 360 had a disc drive failure and died before the ui became similar to windows 98) but both have great exclusive games, and eventually i might get another 360 so i finally play gears of war and crackdown again (wasnt really a halo person). As mentioned above, the quality of games between the 2 are pretty similar, except when they make "sloppy" or "rushed" ports of games. The price point of both systems are similar as well now [$199 - $299 on average]. Either way your still going to have a lot of fun!

I have a PS3 and a 360. However, I have owned my PS3 longer and I also play that more often. PS3 gives me more value in that sense over the 360. Most of the games I play are available on my PS3. If more of my friends play multiplayer on one console over the other, I will buy the game on whatever console most of my friends play it on. For example, many of my friends play Black Ops II on the PS3, so I'll get Black Ops II on the PS3. For the games that aren't available on the PS3, I will get them on the 360 such as Forza Motorsport 4, Halo 4, etc. The PS3 is still the console of choice for me though.

Hoenstly neither system is better than the other. I typically say that the online community for most games on the xbox 360 is better than the ps3, but the capabilities of the ps3 are greater due to the fact that it can play blu-ray discs and such. The only true reason I own an xbox is because most of my friends play xbox, so if I wanted to have fun and play with them I had to go with xbox instead of ps3. :P

I have had both. I had an xbox, but I recently moved to japan and decided to buy a ps3 due to the lack of region locks. I found that the xbox was nice for games, but the PS3 is great for everything. I ocasionally will browse (albeit for a short period) online, or use if to stream movies or music. It is a great all round entertainment system. Much better than the 360.
