i'm just curious, because i have a lot of DS games, and i use NDSTT to download and play games from this site, but I want to get a 3DS and play new games in 3D... i'm just wondering if i can use my NDSTT on a 3DS and if not, is there anything like the NDSTT that i can get for 3DS? also, are the games really that much better? what are the most popular games for it? how is the 3D? i've never had the opportunity to play or hold one so i have no idea what the difference is. thanks anyone for answering my questions.

I've been using a CycloDS card on my DSLite for years, apparently they made a new card called CycloDS:iEvolution that works on 3ds systems, but only up to a certain firmware version. I've purchased Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Mario Kart 7 for my 3ds and they are both worth the money I paid.

Also, from what I have read about Super Mario Land, Kingdom Hearts 3d and Resident Evil: Revelations, they are all amazing games on the 3ds. I don't actually use the 3d compatibility very often. Odd I know, sometimes it hurts my eyes if I have it on for too often and if the screen isn't in the right place it doesn't look right.

But, if i did it all over again, I'd buy the 3ds purely for Zelda and Mario Kart :)

I love nostalgia...

I'm waiting for Fire Emblem for the 3DS. Then it's mine. Until then I still play the occasional GBA game on my DS.

Your best bet is to obviously keep your DS Lite and buy the 3DS. If you have the money, buy the XL system and you won't regret it. I have a 3DS XL and I also have my DSi and even a Game Boy Advance SP, plus I'm waiting for a Micro to come in the mail. It isn't worth bringing in your old system for credit because if you're like me, you'll still have old GBA cartridges and will still want to play them. Plus I'm not sure where you live and what kind of video game stores you have, but I have GameStop, and those guys won't really give me anything for my old systems, and the Play N Trade that I'm closest to would only give me credit for it, and I'm hardly ever there to buy things.

If I were you, I would only trade up if I still had an SP lying around somewhere. One of the best things about the DS Lite is its GBA compatibility, and I wouldn't want to give that up, even for a 3DS. New games are fun, but classics are classics for a reason.

Like others have said, I would recommend keeping the DS Lite, as other game retailers will give you only a small amount of money for its trade in, and being able to play GBA games is a huge plus, worth the 20-30 dollars you would probably get for the Lite in my opinion. I am keeping my DS Lite and picking up the 3ds later.

I think it may also depend on if you find the 3ds games available interesting...I personally swore that I would never want a 3ds until that came out with new Kingdom Hearts, Castlevania, and Harvest Moon. Now I'm saving up for my 3ds I'm order to play these games.

It's fairly simple. Do you have a big imported DS library and GBA games? Then stick with the DS. If not, go for it, it's a good system and the Fire Emblem on there is mindblowingly good.

The hardware differences between the DS Lite and 3DS are huge. Games run smoother, graphics are greatly improved, and the 3DS interface is simply fantastic. Even audio is noticably better in both processing and output. You can also play NDS games in their original dimensions by simultaneously holding start and select when launching software. Emulating is made more difficult by the constant bombardment of OS updates, though, so you should probably keep the Lite for that.

Frankly I wouldn't trade up and just get the 3ds outright, sometimes dealing with flashcarts can be a pain with the 3ds logging every cartridge that is poped into it. that said I doubt Nintendo would do anything if you did use a flash Cart in the 3ds, just something that urks me.

At any rate, keeping the DS lite lets you enjoy your older equipment without having to shell out for new flash carts and what not, but will only keep you in your DS games and won't really help you with 3ds. So yeah get the 3DS but keep the lite so you can mess around with it, trade pokemon out of your flash cart versions to legit carts for transfer to the 3ds Kalos Region, or just keep it around so you can nostalgia.
