However, sweet does have its limit of tastefulness...and then there's the aftertaste that often comes to ruin the experience. Sweets are an art requiring moderation.
Spiciness is a matter of tolerance. Some people can't take it at all...others can take so much of it, you have to question their sanity or humanity. Some like the thrill and the feeling of conquering something and going beyond logical limits.
Spiciness is also not a quality that stands alone, unlike how sweetness can (though sweet and bitter tend to marry well). The kind of heat needs to have a bit of a sour tang and of course some saltiness to be enhanced by the burn (and certainly not the other way around). Spiciness tends to compliment something that already tastes good, so it's more like a bonus with zing.

Sweet is fun and gentle, yes. But I like color in my life and thus I would have to pick spicy. I'm not sure if you're talking about food here, but I'm talking about relationship wise. I'd rather have arguments and sparks and anger and passion than compliancy and perfection.

Depends on what I'm craving, sometimes I want my mouth to burn but other times I need a little sweet.

I prefer spicy foods. I can't too much of the sweet stuff especially if it's too sweet. But with spicy foods it can't be so spicy that I can't taste the food.

I like both, but I guess I prefer spicy more than sweet. Overtly sweet things tend to give me a headache

I think it goes about What i am eating. there are thing that taste better spicy than sweet.
Fo example, if i eat chips, i'd rather have them with suce than dips. However i don't usually use a ot of spice on main dishes
