Didn't see one started yet, so I thought I'd start one myself. Especially since Season 3's gonna air this saturday November 10th. In case nopony knows, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a show about Ponies and in particular one Pony's quest to learn about Friendship. Originally aimed at little girls, this somehow caught the attention of Men as well, with the average age being 12 to 35. From it's first airing, the show's fandom, who call themselves Bronies, has boomed since and now, even in the country I live in, the number of Bronies are growing. In the Philippines alone there are 900+ Bronies last I counted.
So... let's get this discussion started :3

If this was shown 12 years ago, I would have been into the show. Though I'm not able to get myself hooked on the show, not to say that I appreciate the art and brony design which is enough to give anyone diabetes.

I know o__o I got into the show for the adorable Ponies. I stayed because of the art of the fandom, as well as many good Bronies I know. I mean yeah there are the really bad ones out there but I'm not gonna let a few raindrops get in-between friends.

I'm not into MLP at all, but the fighting game that group was coming up with seemed promising.
I've got that beta version on hand to test, though it's in its early stages, it's fun.

Cool If you're into city-building type games, Gameloft just recently released an MLP Game for the iPad, iPhone and Android

Oh, oh I hope it's alright if I post a few screenshots from the show itself and describe some of the characters. Not really spoilers.

 

 

Twilight Sparkle. She represents the Element of the Magic of Friendship. She simply loves Libraries, books, reading, studying, practicing Magic, etc. but she'll also help out her friends if ever they needed her. No matter how hard the tasks that were trusted upon her seemed, even if they made her go crazy with worry, in the end, she and her friends could solve it.

 

 

Pinkie Pie. She represents the Element of Laughter.  She loves throwing parties for her friends and making everypony smile, even when it sometimes makes her look silly. But, for her closest friends, she would do anything no matter how hard it was for her. Even watching paint dry.

 

 

Rainbow Dash. She represents the Element of Loyalty. She loves soaring in the sky like her idols, The Wonderbolts. Flying fast and strong, she loves competition but treasures friendship even more.She would never leave Ponyville or any of her friends hanging. She can be there for them in ten seconds flat.

 

 

 

 

 

Applejack. She represents the Element of Honesty. A strong, tough mare who loves helping ponies around her, Applejack is a pony you can count on in dark times. She's down to earth and would rather choose function over form, but her family and friends matter the most and she won't let her personal feelings get in the way of problems that they could solve together. Like maybe if a tree fell in your house.

 

 

Fluttershy. She represents the Element of Kindness. As her name implies she is a shy pony. She also has fear of flying, dragons, the forest behind her house and her own shadow. But that doesn't stop her from being assertive when her friends need her the most. In fact, she'll stand up to just about anything and send critters scurrying off with a single stare.

 

 

Rarity. She represents the Element of Generosity. A dress-maker in Ponyville, she loves making new dresses for all her friends, especially if there are occasions for it. Sometimes her love for gems and fashion gets the best of her, but she would never allow it to come between her and her friends. Especially not after Tom.

but overall the show is pretty decent; don't see why there is so much commotion about it; Who cares if guys watch it? Let 'em be.

It is actually a pretty good show... Whatever the commotion's about, it's absolutely unnecessary.

 

I agree. I don't get why people get hostile about these things, though I've never really been subjected to such because my family's cool with it. I told my Mom and she was like "Oh...ok" ...then my aunt in the U.S. sent me a bunch of previous Gen ponies which I thought were cute :3 My niece wanted them though so I gave them to her. My cousins are all cool with it too. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the following sentences, since this is going to be highly sensitive and explicit, so I'll put it in spoilers.

I think it's because many think that most of the fans "clop" (fapping to Ponies) which in fact, many fans do but not all the fans are cloppers. I don't think that people should blame the entirety for the actions of the few. What they want to fap to is none of my business or anyone's but their own. The bad side is that some ACTUALLY share their experiences posting GIFs of themselves humping Pony plushies or cumming on Pony toys. I think they're probably trolling and it could be cornstarch or something similar. Because who would actually do that @__@

I honestly never understood why this show gets as much flak as it does.  Sure, My Little Pony:  Friendship is Magic is largely aimed towards the female demographic but the stories themselves are decent from the few episodes I've watched and the show has clear and concise messages and manages to pay tribute to continuity on certain aspects like Pinkie Sense.  The series also has some well known actors like John de Lancie, probably best known for playing Q in Star Trek, as the voice of Discord an antagonist in the show that makes a few appearances from what I've read.

 

And, I find it hard to hate on any series that goes out of its way to parody Batman the Animated Series.
