what kind of games do you play now? and which game got you into that genre? Most people who play FPSs enjoyed 007 Golden Eye or Doom. Others that play Marvel vs Capcom 3 enjoyed street fighter II and Killer Instincts. What I'm mostly trying to say is which game influenced you the most and is the reason you play the games you do now? Think way back in the day...

i reccomend Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time for Pj64  (the n64 emulator, great emulator btw)

and Earthbound is arguabally the best SNES game, so think about that too   (SNES emulators are easy to find)

I like RPG's...was introduced to them via Legend Of Zelda on the NES, and I now own Front Mission 3 on the PS1, Front Mission 4 on the PS2.

I also enjoy combat flight sim games...the Ace Combat series especially, with my faves being Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War (PS2), Ace Combat 6: Fires Of Liberation and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon on the Xbox 360. I was introduced to the genre by the Wing Commander games on the PC back in the 90's, and I own Wing Commander 3 and Wing Commander IV for the PS1.

I also love FPS games. Was introduced to them via Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown on the PS1, and I now own Duke Nukem: Time To Kill and Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes for that system. Fave FPS games: Halo series, Medal Of Honor: Frontline and Medal Of Honor: Vanguard (PS2), Turok: Evolution (PS2), Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call Of Duty 3 (PS2), Project Snowblind (PS2). Also, any good Star Wars game...my two faves being Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.

I enjoy fighting games. Marvel vs Capcom got me into it, but I'm playing MvC 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 at the moment.

Well I like rpgs and the one that got me into it was Phantasy Star IV. I didn't even have the english version of it. Played and finished it with all sub quest done in japanese and I don't even read a letter of the language. I am currently replaying that game because I am having a gard time emulating Xenogears on my PC

It's hard for me to remember which games got me started into specific genres at this point.  I mean I've played hundreds of games at this point and they all start to blur together after a while.

The only real stand out for me is that Disgaea Hour of Darkness (PS2) was my introduction into the SRPG market and made me fall in love with the genre.
