When I play DS/3DS, people often ask me if I'm not to old for that (I'm 19), but I think it's stupid that DS/3DS has an image of being for little children. It actually has a lot of difficult games. Still, I always feel a bit ashamed when I play in public places and people look at me. Do you?

I don't think you should be ashamed of playing a videogame in the streets. If that's what people say to you, you should ask them if they feel ashamed that when they talking to someone and looking at their cellphone at the same time

I think you should not care what people think I play my ds in the streets and I'm 19  people stare and I don't care also my mom plays and she's in her 40's. You should do whatever makes you feel happy.

I'm twenty, almost twenty one, and I've never felt ashamed to play in public. I've actually seen middle aged people play Outside, on buses, etc. I think that gaming is for people of all ages and no one should feel bad for playing. Anyone that would judge people or call them immature or something like that are just rude and ignorant.

I wouldn't dare play on it in public. I'd be far too embarrassed.

I do get some stares when I play DS on the bus, but I honestly don't care what others think of me. As long as I'm having fun, everyone else's opinions don't really matter.

No shame at all. I play in the subway or the bus and people don't really even notice (however, I do get tons of streetpass depending of the subway station I play into).

I'm 37 and i still play my ds, I've recently got a dsi, and people often stare or shake their heads, but i think its because they are jealous and have nothing else to do.

There's no shame to do it.

I've seen last time a man in his 40s playing Pokemon on his DS lite.

Asides from that, I've seen many teens in their late 10s or 20s playing 3DS, Vita, etc.

I myself rarely play outside as I'm usually listening to music, or doing something that requires my attention.

Only time I bring my console out is to go to EB Games and acquire the Pokemons from those special event, and I always end up with like 6 cartridges to do, which looks weird to people as I'm standing in a spot, getting the mystery gift, save, change cart for like 20 mins.

A little bit, but more on the side that I don't want people to be all "Ohhhh what are you playing" when I'm in the middle of something important lol.

It's weird for me actually.

Although I don't have a DS/3DS, I personally would find it a little awkward playing it in public. However with that said, I'd happily play games on an iphone. Why a smartphone and not a DS... I don't really know why. Perhaps it has something to do with the size? o.O

Nintedo is made for ALL ages! That is the beautiy with nintendo. I one saw a guy who looked like a construction worker in his late 40's play a pink ds lite on the subway. If he can play with no shame, you should be able to as well :)

I play NDS Lite on my commute home. Take note, that is a public bus. I play cooking mama sometimes and get positive feedback. When a cute girl sits with me and sees what I'm playing, I often times get a warm smile. So, playing handheld in public does have cool perks.

The target demographic for most DS games is getting younger and younger, yes, bringing negative attention to it as a platform directed soley toward toddlers (the 2DS greatly emphasized this). People who think of the DS in this way obviously haven't played (or heard of) games such as Bravely Default and the like, or have forgotten that Call of Duty was actually developed for DS. With this in mind I do still feel uneasy playing my DS in public, seeing five year olds with the same thing in their hands pass by.
