Ashamed? He'll no,I'm 28 and I'd play my DS in public all the time. I once had a woman ask if it was a cell phone lol, another time a woman's three kids sat down on the bench next to me and tried to watch the game I was playing. I don't care, the DS/3DS is one of my all time favorite systems and you should never be ashamed of the things you enjoy. (unless it's illegal or something, then you might want to check yourself before you wreck yourself).

There is no worse enemy. His passion for
death doesn't just border on insanity, it
wallows in it.

As long as you don't bring your handheld games to a business meeting or professional workplace, then yeah..you can enjoy your games to your heart's content elsewhere haha. I bring my 3ds out in public places cuz I'm happy to play with gaming community

You shouldn't be ashamed what would be the point of making them if you had to just sit around alone plus everybodys always on their phones so a DS is no big deal.

Maybe a little or maybe its just awkwardness. Being the only one that pulls it out and plays it. But i noticed people don't generally care unless it affects them, and you don't care once you get into the game. I like to think that they just jealous cause they don't have one :P

It is funny this thread is here because I have asked myself about this recently. I feel it because in my area who I have mostly seen playing DS/3DS in public are little or pre-teen kids and I am 37, so there is a bit of an age gap. :)

I do feel odd playing the DSI in public, which is a shame and I am trying to get over it as I have lots of medical appts and it could be useful. However, last ER visit I took it and was playing Harvest Moon while enduring the endless wait...

I should not care and no one should care, but yet I do lol.

They should not say that, you play that game and look them in the eye and tell them it is the same as having  an Xbox or play station.

I still play my game boy which people sometimes think is for even younger kids, but really some of its games are harder than some recent ones.
