Hey Everyone! 
I'm here to ask a simple question. If I transfer my wii data to my wii U (wii is softmodded) will it damage my wii U in any way?

From what I have read on other websites, it will only transfer legitimately installed channels to the Wii U. it will ignore or delete Homebrew and otherwise. That is of course before applying any form of hack to the Wii channel on the Wii U. So I think it would be best to just leave your channels alone on the Wii and don't transfer anything unless they are legitimately purchased... at that point, make sure to make backups.
