Nintendo will still prevail. They have the substance: the best storyline creativity for all time. Whatever features they introduce in their consoles from time to time will only enhance what they revolutionized. Since they command the past, they will control the future... :P

If microsoft is somehow in the running, then I believe that Nintendo still has a great chance at overpowering them. Besides, as long as Xbox doesnt have japanese gaming, it'll never live up to the other systems.

i think ps3 will flop. xbox 360 and revoution look and sound awesome, nothing special about the ps3 though.

I really think that the Revolution has a good chance, the age bracket of "cool" 13-17 year olds they will never win, as its not cool to have a Nintendo, games need to be violent to be fun. Whereas I never got into this and realise nintendo games are the most fun out of all 3 consoles.

Thats bull. Games do not need t be violent to be cool. I can guarantee that half the country is ready to buy any new zelda game that comes out. And thats not even close to violent. The thing about the gamecube is its the only one making fun games still. A sonic game coming out for gamecube is expected, where as xbox would look like an idiot. So as long as Gamecube keeps making the fun "party" games, they will always have a chance.

My OPINION is no, and for many reasons:1) The revolutions is smaller than the other 2, indicating that it MIGHT not be as advanced techonology-wise.2) Nintendo is hoping the fact that gamers will be able to download old games will be a seeling point. It wont matter to gamers since EMU's have been around for a long time.3) Sony and MS have huge blockbuster games that many gamers will be dying to get their hands on. What does Nintendo have? You may say it has Mario, but a rep said the next one might be another sunshine, and I dont think many will be waiting in line for that one.4) The PS3 and 360 have been confirmed to be much more than just gaming machines, something that will definitely appeal to non-gamers.But, in all fairness, not much has been revealed about the Revolution save for the console itself, so I wouldnt be suprised if they had something up their sleeves. Now, you might argue that Nintendo had a monster controller, but I dont think that will affect console sales at all. I buy a console for the game, and DEFINITELY not for the controller. But, you can expect a pretty good controller from Nintedo because they are keeping it very secretive, and said that they are gonna wait until next year to unveil it.

Let me tell you, Nintendo INTENDED to put DVD playback in the gamecube and it didn't happen. Nintendo INTENDED to have a quality online service. Who cares connecting to the net is free of charge? Sega did it first six years ago so its old news. Besides, there is no wireless net in my town so it is useless to me. If in fact it is wireless the same as the DS and they do manage to make them connect together to act as a controller or something, good for them but I won't buy it. Put resources into more useful things such as recruiting third party developers.

you see they already are. at this years e3 press confrence (and i believe before this) nintendo said that the revolution development kits will be very similar to the gc ones. The x360 and ps3 on the other hand not only have new dev kits, the graphical and power capabilities are gonna be an absolute nightmare for developers. higher costs to develop and longer amounts of time to make a game would surely convince a massive majorty of developers to move to the rev which will be using kits somewhat familiar to many companies. also because the rev wont be as powerful as ps3 and x360 it will logically be cheaper and faster to produce for. so basically game developers who dont have to money to keep pumping out games (ea games) will definately find it easier and cheaper to develop for the rev. 3rd party support? not a problem.

oh geez, here goes people again thinking that game machines are about more than the gaming expereince. THEY ARE NOTbravepotato said extra features will appeal to non gamers? this is wrong. With the extra features the prices of these consoles will be outrageous. The PS3 is already said to have a release price in japan of over $450!!!!!!! That will NOT appeal to new gamers. Nintendo is taking the long shot by changing the way people play games. this MIGHT attract new gamers. Who really wants to store digital photos on their xbox anyway??the comment about revolutions size was completely asanine. with technology, size does NOT matter. look at cellphones for crying out loud.Xbox has less blockbuster games than any other console. anything besides halo and doom are 3rd party games that are normally available on all 3.METROID PRIME BEAT HALO!!!!!!! GET OVER IT!!!!!!the downloadable games will only make a difference if they are free or extremely cheap. That ones up to nintendo, it could make a difference if done correctlyIt all lies in the controller. Nintendo has a blank canvas with this one. No need to worry about 3rd party games compatability because you can use gamecube controllers on the revolution, which are the same basic design of the new PS3 and XBOX360 controllers. if nintendo comes through with the new contollers, you just might see an actual revolution.ALSO: no one is allowed to say how powerful the revolution will be unless you personally helped develop it at nintendo. THE SPECS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED YET. Cube games look every bit as pretty as Xbox games. I expect that to continue

smoething else that people may not have considered is that the blu-ray cds the ps3 used will be very expensive to manufacture hence games will be more expensive. and also because they can hold much more data loading times will increase because it will take longer for the console to find the correct data in when it loads.

I'd have to say yes, on many reasons.1. Sony and nintendo are competing for the Japanese market. Compared to the XBOX, like 10 times more PS2s (and even Gamecubes) were sold in Japan.2. The Revolution is shaping up really nicely. Although the Gamecube doesn't stack up technically to the xbox or ps2, it still was a good system people wanted.3. The first party aspects of nintendo are unbeatable. The very fact that Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, etc are exclusive to nintendo is enough for some to get it.4. It's backwards compatible, man!But where the Revolution might fail is the online play. XBOX does a great job of supporting its online community, and the PS2 has a small, but working online. The gamecube had... Phantasy Star Online...That sums it up for me.

About online play on revolution well IT WILL BE FREE they confirmed that all online play on revolution will be free and square enix supports it completly and its connectivity with nintendo ds.
