Sony made the mistake of calling the Wii a 'Novelty'.In my opinion, it stands as much chance in the Market as the other two. It's the top rating in sales in the US, and it's probably got the most games.

The wii stands a chance, but their next console needs enough graphics and power to keep up with its competitors.

By the way, I am assuming that this topic was made before the next gen consoles were manufactured, and back then i thought nintendo had a large shot at surviving

With the wii and all, I think that Nintendo is doing great in terms of appealing to nongamers, but to the loyal nintendo fans that bought every single console, we are disappointed. We miss having a large selection of QUALITY games, and the wii just wasn't made to provide a deep gaming experience (though there are exceptions). I kind of wish that nintendo would make a powerhouse console like the ps3, but i also kinda want nintendo to make something different. My parents won't let me get more than one console at the same time, so i still have my n64 and gamecube. With Nintendo making something totally different than say the xbox 360,. it kinda seems like they're avoiding trying to make a powerhouse console. Either that, or their using the wii to draw in more video game players, THEN come out with a new powerhouse console that everyone will like.

Well, naturally, most people are going to say yes here. It's a biased argument when it's posted in the Nintendo subforum for a start. :D That aside, I think they do indeed stand a chance. They've survived the competition this many years, haven't they? I don't see Nintendo going anywhere any time soon.

The only way they can stand a chance is if it makes another system, or makes a major upgrade to the system they already have. i know dsi is ok, and wii plus is good too, but i dont think its as good as some of the games on other systems.

Nintendo was always the creative company. Sony and Microsoft are, and always have been, obsessed with performance, console speed, and the ability to provide better graphics. The only real difference between the PS3 and 2 is that PS3 has better graphics and online multiplayer. Nintendo with its motion-sensing Wii is definately a force to be reckoned with, and could even surpass the XBox360 and PS3. Not to mention its family games does pull a lot from income from older and younger age groups in addition to the average teenage-twenties gamer.
