This poll is not about which is/was the hottest console on the market, but which console made your most fondest video-game memories while playing the games. I know PC is not a console system, however it deserves its place with the rest as there was and still is a large market for games on the PC.
Myself I would have to say the PC (IBM Compatible). I grew up with the NES and playing my older brother's SNES (14 years age difference so he was not living at home when he had his SNES). In the mid 90s my mom and dad purchased their first PC to do tax work on (we own a Farm) and check the grain markets. After I started exploring some of the games on the PC the consoles pared in comparison. Some of my early games on the PC were Wolfenstein 3D, Heretic, Hexen, Doom, and the Mechwarrior 2 series. Overall the best memories I have of playing the PC comes from the Mechwarrior and Mech Commander games.
The NES comes in second place as it holds my first exposure to video games, and allot of good times in there as well... SMB, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Crystalis...
As being a PC gamer, Microsoft shot themselves in the foot with their staffing decitions on the Xbox 360. Microsoft had some great titles going for them on the PC, but when they got going with the Xbox 360 they had discontinued support and production of these titles to switch their staff over to production with Xbox 360 products, one of the PC titles that was canceled in this time-frame was MechWarrior 5. So it is not that the Xbox consoles were or were not a good system, it is that Microsoft made an enemy with me by abandoning the PC market and some of my favorite PC titles. So in a matter of speaking I had a bad experience with Xbox before I sat down and played on one.
