The game is a Nintendo DS game, so I was wondering. I'm referring to the actual game cart -- not the rom.
Does 'Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story' work on the 3DSXL?

Yes, the 3DS is backwards compatible with DS and DSi games so it should be capable of playing it.

Yes it does, and every other ds dsi game works on the 3ds 9unless yours is broken).

Indeed it will run as long as it is a legit copy. ROM carts though can be hit or miss of course. The only NDS games that will have reduced functionality are ones that used the GBA slot on a classic NDS or DSlite, but will otherwise run.
