Catching Legendary Pokemon w/o Master Ball

i accidentally chose the pokeball in my pack against articuno. it was scary because it was down to its last ounce of strength and was poisoned. it was the first ball i threwi also caught a few others with a premier ball(rayquaza, groudon, kyogre, moltres) using a maximum of 6 attempts

i've caught most of them before except for Rayqueza and Mewtwo and Lugia but its easier to catch them when they a sleep

Quick question for all those pokemon fans out there. All those Legendary pokemon out there... Ho-Oh, Kygouge, Mewtwo, Zapados, etc... have you EVER caught any one of these without having to use a masterball? I've tried OFTEN, but even at my best attempt, Groudon lost all its PP (no jokes please), and just struggled to death. I went through 10 timer balls and 10 ultra balls, and Groudon had as little power as it could have had, especially after it struggled. I've had this simular problem with just about every other legendary pokemon out there, so I'm just wondering has ANYONE ever caught one without masterballing it?

I did,Kyogre, Rayquaza, Groudon,With Ultra balls,My secret, just going on...Beofre i'm going 2 face them, i save the game first,and if they die, i'll just try again XD

Yeah its almost impossible but you have to make them sleep,paralyzed,but not poisned cuz it takes away HP and eventually kills it. It works good wit lugia in silver. I caught him with a reg pokeball even though he was frozen asleep and para

ive only gotten groudon and mewtwo without masterballs- but its damn hard and it took literally hours to do it...

Man, in the first games I caught Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno with ultraballs. They weren't that hard as far as I'm concerned. The hardest for me was definately Lugia. Me and my brother both got to him around the same time, both of us playing Gold version, and had a race to see who could catch him first without a master ball. It took several days, but eventually I won with an ultra ball. I can't remember what happened to the dogs on that game.Then I got Crystal, and caught Raikou, Entai and Sucuine all with ultra balls, then Lugia with an ultra ball and Ho-oh with a master ball.Then there was Ruby version, in which I managed to get all the Regis and Latias *or Latios, can't remember* with ultra balls, and saved the master ball for Rayquaza.And then I started using cheats^^'

I saw a friend of mine catch Mewtwo with just regular pokeballs before, I’m not sure how he did it I think he used sleep a lot and i know he had TONS of pokeballs.So yes it is possible to catch legendary pokemon without using a Masterball, you can even use just regular pokeballs(yes it is possible, I promise...I wouldn't lie to you)Its been years since i played Pokemon but I’m pretty sure I caught Lugia with Ultra balls.I never used Masterballs, it seemed like a cheap way to catch a pokemon, that and they are pretty rare so I didn't want to use them.

what i do to catch pokemon when i use my computer is to save my game in "shift+f1" and then i load it until i captur the pokemon

i got mewtwo with an ultraball in leaf green.. it was the first attempt too.. it wasn't as hard as i thought.. just level up a pokemon that knows falseswipe.. but it was the first time i ever tried because i wanted to catch suicune with the master ball to save alot of time.

I caught mewtwo in pokemon red (old version) in a pokeballarticuno in leaf green also.and the other i cant remember.

I have caught rayquaza, groudon and kyogre using only ultra balls.try to lower their hp until it's color red them put them to sleep or paralyze or freeze them.that is what I am doing

Like Migspogi I've caught Mewtwo by beating him senseless and then putting him to sleep with Jigglypuff.That was the only time I remember doing that.

'm not saying I don't believe you but I think theres some rule in the game about no matter how low the pokemon's hp is if there over a certain level a certain ball won't work on them.But wouldn't the poision have killed Articuno?

i remember now how i caught my second kyogre in sappire,first i attacked him until he was very low on HP then its was thowing, great balls, and pokeballs, the other pokemon faint after the other and reviving them during battle. until, i caught kyogre w/a greatball.i yelled out loud. it was a hard struggle to catch that beast with NO masterball

I have done it on groudon only. First catch a pelipper and raise it around level 36-40. Teach it surf too. Then go to groudon and fight him with 10 ultra balls and 4 timer balls. Battle him and since he can't use earthquake(ground on flying) he is limited to flamethrower which pelipper is water. Take a lot of turns to get him to low health (wing attack) then once pelipper faints send out anyone and use a time ball. TA DAAA!!GROUDON

I have thrown 15(!) ultra balls at Kyogre in version Sapphire, but it has no effect at all. At the end had i enough and thrown a master ball. It worked.
