I did manage to get zapdos moltres and articuno with the ultraballs but i did need loads of tries before i finnally had them.

masterballs are really handy, but i've caught quite a few of the legendary's without it...put it to sleep or stun and its a piece of cake, dunno why but usually i use pokeballs

Many people say Master balls are cheap and take away from the fun, but that "fun" turns into frustration. I use them all the time :PI think I actually managed to catch a Lugia with a pokeball unless that was a Suicune.

I caught all my legendaries with either ultra balls or timer balls. I usually made them sleep or paralyzed them.I only use master balls on the legendaries that run away like Latios, Latias, and the legendary dog (or cat) trio.

put them to sleep is what i did then shoved ultra balls at them cause in pokemon blue i caught moltress with a master ball and then i struggled by raising my wiggilytuff to sing to the others to put them straight to sleep

yesQuick question for all those pokemon fans out there. All those Legendary pokemon out there... Ho-Oh, Kygouge, Mewtwo, Zapados, etc... have you EVER caught any one of these without having to use a masterball? I've tried OFTEN, but even at my best attempt, Groudon lost all its PP (no jokes please), and just struggled to death. I went through 10 timer balls and 10 ultra balls, and Groudon had as little power as it could have had, especially after it struggled. I've had this simular problem with just about every other legendary pokemon out there, so I'm just wondering has ANYONE ever caught one without masterballing it?

I was fighting Kyogre and then i was down to my last timer ball. I had one shot and got it, i was lucky as hell.

I caught most of the legendary pokemon in the game(s) without using masterball. It just takes a bit of patience for me..

well i met raikou unexpectedly so i saved it on the spot on the emulator using the saved state and just kept throwing a normal ball i had and jst kept loading when it didnt get in. so officially i only used 1 ball but i had like plenty of tries.

I have caught all my legendary pokemon at least once with a ultra ball or alike. But most of them i had to catch with masterball first time around. The trick is to get them 1 hp, then get them asleep and then use lots of ultra balls untill you catch it, and if you run out of ultra balls use timer balls because by that time the battle would of gone on for a long time and that would make the timer balls more effective. It's best you freeze that loser, or put him to sleep. Got the groudon with a HEAVY BALLGot Kyogre with the, i dunno forgot, some water-pokemon catching ballThrow everything you've got at Rayq

Hmm, back in the days of Gold and Silver.. There was no choice but to chase the Legendary Dogs around... Caught back then with Fast Ball or Ultra Ball... Now I use Master Balls... But I've caught the Regis in Sapphire with Timer Balls and/or Ultra Balls..It takes lots of time though:- First you need some strong pokemon, with strategical moves...- Put them to sleep, and start by taking away the accur., attack..- It's best to use just growl, cause it's more turns and then the timer ball will have more effect...The same methods for the other Legendaries...But I really suggest you to use your Master Ball on the Latios or Latias, since they run away in battle... Only if you're lucky they stay and battle... They are a lot harder to chase around, since they can be also found on top of water while surfing :PThe three Birds.. Are just too easy XDAnd now with dark types Mewtwo is also easy target

Wooo~Lowering their hp and paralyzing them...Thats what i do...I normally uses master ball...But sometimes i uses ultra ball and nth else...Keep spaming them wif those...Have lots of patience and u will succed ^^

I used my Master Ball to Kyogre And when i face Rayquaza it takes at least an half hour until i captured it on ultra ball

I had to use the masterball though....in red/blue/yellow i had to use it on Mew2...the rest was a tough battle with ultraballs and greatbals. In G/S/C, i used it on the 1st legendary dog i saw...so as to not let them escape cos they roar to flee...the other dogs i had to spend huge amounts of time catching them...like say...2 hours? of course i found them but u hav to be quick to deduct their hp dont try putting them to sleep...it seldom works although people would hav done it. Lugia & Ho-Oh was caught with ultraballs/heavyballs. For Ru/Sa/Em, i used my masterball on Latios/latias^^'' same reason as above. Groudon was caught wif timerball, Kyogre was ultraball, Rayquaza was caught wif a timerball...regirock/steel/ice were caught with timerballs ^^''

i cought mewtwo with a pokeball once because it was confused asleep and had 1hp left i went through about 50 ultra balls 50 mega ball 10 pokeballs but i cought it non the less

I caught all of them without a masterball, accidentally used in snorlax and had to catch them with ultraballs. Then i found mystery number after i had caught all the legendaries.
