I love this game, and so do the other people that played it that i know. But those other pople that have played it only seems like 10% of us teens today, even lots of the old gamers dont know about it, i said i know poeple that played it? well the only person i know is my bro, i know alot of other people, i even know a "nerd" or a "game-freak" hes super freaky and he dont even know! So why is this such a unknown game? Was it just one of those products that got sent to stores but never got advertised like many games today, EX: scaler, Avanced Wars 2, Medal of honor european assault, these are just some i picked off the top of myh head, if tehy are wrong dont get freaky, you know what im saying, and if you dont, you best not even bother replying.

Mario RPG is probably one of my favorite games. Maybe not many people know about it because Chrono Trigger came out around the same time as Mario RPG, and it sold more.

Hmmm maybe because Mario itself is famous with the adventure game. Not the RPG....that`s why when i saw it i didn`t interested at all. I played it after my friend recommended it to me. And i think because there are far much more better RPG games with good stories out there. MArio RPG has a good fighting system, but i found that the story is kinda lame!

I wouldn't call it the best RPG I ever played, but it was pretty fun.

I personally have played the game, and I must say for it's time, it was one of the greatest games I have ever played.

One of my most loved RPGs of the Super Nintendo right next to Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. I'd like to see a true sequel, not just some Paper Mario spin-off series...I'm talking about Square-Enix and Nintendo joining forces one last time for an epic RPG.

Super Mario RPG is easily my favorite game on the SNES. The reason that most people you talk to don't know about it is probably because the younger generation doesn't know much about gaming before N64 and PS. If they have heard of SNES and Genesis, which they would consider old (ask them if they've heard of Atari), they probably don't even bother with them because of the graphics. As far as I know, Super Mario RPG was a popular game. I know that all my friends played it and loved it.

Mario Rpg was absolutly brilliant. A simple storyline, character development...optional add ons/extras. it was truely amazing how they put it all togther :(

Yeah, i dunno about this one. I always wondered the same thing. Kinda like how nobody really took notice of paper mario when it got released on n64. If you liked mario rpg, you really should check out paper mario 1 and 2. They're very similar in spirit to Mario RPG.

I liked mario rpg, but I didn't know about it 'til just recently. I guess it just wasn't highly publicized as much as it should have been.

Plenty of people know about this game. But it's not really a good Mario game, and it's not really that great of an RPG when you see the competition is titles such as Chrono Trigger and FF series.

But still, that old Mario RPG had some good refreshing gameplay in it, as an RPG even.

ah,i remember that gamestill play it sometimes.:)i guess, like the others have said, that the game didn't get much publicity due to the fact of Chrono Trigger coming out.but that didn't stop me.i'll admit, the story was abit childish, but it was enjoyable.the battle system was pretty cool as well,at least i thought so.and just wondering, but does anyone else think that Culex would have been a better boss than Smithy?

haha,i know right!i mean, you go through all that trouble, defeating those stupid crystals, and them him,and for what? an item that really doesn't help much.-_-(but it does help...a little)haha,i thought it was a seriously unfair battle though, you could hardly target more than one enemy, but the enemies could always target all of your characters.>_<

i never played it can u tell me about it?

i'll sum it up as best as possible.a nice, normal day, princess peach is out picking flowers, then it gets really dark and bowser kidnaps her.mario comes out and chases after him, going inside his castle and such.he manages to rescue her,but then,a giant sword falls out of the sky and crashes into the castle, throwing the princess, bowser, and mario into different directions of the world.mario sets out on a quest to retreive the princess, but also learns of what else he must do.the sword crashed through the star road, and mario and company must regain all the stars and fight against smithy's fiends.to me,some of the story had a few ff references, but that's just me...otherwise,the jist of it was explained, hope it kinda interests you.i suck at explaining things though..might do ya better to wikipedia it.

You've essentially described it, I loved the 9999pt Geno Whirl trick... (Which was mediocre since it couldn't be used against bosses...) and it required such precise timing... It was a great game!!!
