its fun only if you have a ton of other guys with you. Personally, if it were just me and a girl playing, everyone would call it a girls game; if I had a ton of guys playing on their own free will, then its everyone's game. To avoid embarressment: Challenge people making fun of you, put them on expert mode, then laugh at them while they get Es while you get As

A dance game doesn't mean it's girly. Not only girls can dance. Exp: Breakdancers. Eyetoy Groove isn't girly also. And having a girl on top of all of their CD covers doesn't mean they are sexist either.

actually i usually see it the other way around. Most people i know, the guys tend to play it more than the girls do or more of them are serious about it.

Hah, I laugh at that motion. People who don't know it actually do react like that based on the name (it uses the word 'dance'! twice even!) And yeah, I get that reaction alot when I tell people I play...That ever annoying: "But you're a guy" look :) It doesn;t even have the slightest thing to do with dancing! Well, save for that it's intensive leg-movement on the beat of music; but be honest - If you ever saw someone dancing freestyle like THAT in a club you'd rather avoid him/her...Our club/society at college has some DDR-pads open for use in recess and has DDR-events every once in awhile...but generally it's the girls that stand far away in the corner watching and the guys actually trying it. I wouldn't know if it's like that everwhere, but it surely is here, which is too bad actually :)

I suck at DDR. My brother's really good at it, and so are the kids in the DDR club at school (who I think are all guys). The only girl I know who's good at it is my sister, so it's obviously not just a girl's game.

Well, i'm a guy, and when all the boys come around, we pretty much have tournaments which last for hours. its a great game with mates, no matter what gender, but i think it loses a bit of the fun when playing solo

It's not a girls game, only that most girls are better at it that guys. Hell I play DDR all the time, and I don't feel like it's a girls game.

My personal experience is that most of the DDR players I know are guys (including myself), and if there's a girl she's either absolute beginner or absolute pro. No in the middles, it seems.EDIT: This also goes for In the Groove and Pump It Up.
