PC gaming is not dead. with PC games you can MOD the hell out of a game, but with the console one you can not. also with PC games you can get trainer and you do not need to remeber cheats. ALSO you can play a lot of games on the PC that are or were on consoles and some that were only on PC (Star Trek Armada 1 and 2, Final Fantasy 7 and 8, Halo 1 and 2, World of Warcraft and a lot of others)AsrarQ

Pffft, gaming on PCs is far from dead. The amount of time and comfort and the amount of customization a PC offers far outweighs what consoles provide. Computer hardware and software easily matches and outweighs their console cousins, it's a matter of what kind of game you like and what's supported.

Yes. It is alive, although the bigger requirements are given to the games, and not anyone can buy good equip.

PC gaming is not dead, but it is getting expensive. But, think of it this way. Without PCs, games for the consoles themselves would not be here.

The line between Console Gaming and PC gaming is becoming more blurred. Consoles are now only a little less than a computer. Heck, the Xbox and PS3 are basically computers without a solid OS. I wouldn't so much say PC gaming is dead, just that it needs to evolve. People would much rather buy a $400 game console to play games on than have to upgrade their computer's RAM and Video card to play that same game. Console programmers program their games to the spec of the console where-as PC programmers program to whatever specs they choose. Is PC gaming dying, yes, until a company decides to modify their programming habits, it will die out and consoles will take over.

PC gaming is dying per say but rather the gaming community in general is expanding. As stated time after time, casual gamers tend to lean towards consoles do to price and are much more simplistic (as easy as it may be some don't know how to install even a mere graphics card). The death of PC gaming would eventually lead to the death of the evolution of computer hardware. PC gaming is the main driving force behind hardware development. Also I'd like to point out that most all of the games played professionally are PC games.

PC's are always being reinvented because of the simplified access to the internet where as consoles must be revamped of dissassembled to be updated unless they have a connection to the internet but even then the process is much harder to get running then internet updates through to PC's of today instead of consoles

Computers will be the future of gaming. Consoles today have the capabilities of what computers had 3 years ago.

No, but it has taken a turn. Sports, Racing, and about anything other than RPGs and Shooters are better on Consoles. But MMO gaming has taken off on PC too a level i don't think a console and duplicate...Seriously NW2 with a controller?

I've actually never had a console, because I've lived my whole life having super computers. Of course I've played on friend's consoles, but I'll always prefer the PC. You can update it whenever you need to just buy getting new parts which is something you can't do with the console. I found it ridiculous how you can pay 200$ more for the new PS3 so you can get a higher graphics card when in the end all games are going to suit that.Anyway, to me, the only down side is that most games take a year (or sometimes never) to come out on PC.

I think this is the endless battle between "Which is better, Coke or Pepsi?" There is no actual answer, it just depends what you think is best for your own needs. The console offer much smoother and better graphics (except you buy the expensive high end graphic cards), are easier to handle and are more stable. The PC offers much more oppertunities for customizing your hardware/software, upgrading and etc.The consoles are improving more and more, but so are the PC's so my guess is that both parties will always excist, unless they will improve so that it'll be hard to tell the difference.Well, that's just my opinion :P

Well, posing that question on a forum viewed by gamers who have PCs is asking for response bias, but putting that aside, no, PC gaming won't die for a while (if ever). Sure, consoles are getting ever stronger and shinier, but the PC's slowly improving too, and its controls still win out for RTSes and FPSes.

well i wouldn't sat pc gamer is dead. actually i believe it has somewhat increase a lot more since game consoles are out. for some ppl who can't afford the original systems like ps2 or xbox they find emulators and just play on there pc. if thats not what your meant i beleive its still pretty much alive. blizzards are making loads of money by their release of the warcrafts games (wow included). pc wouldn't be to dead as it lets you play across the netowrk a lot easier than other game consoles.

PC gaming will go on as long as there are enough PCs left in this world.
