What i mean is that since everything can be done on pc, it will eventually have a technology breakthrough which will render consoles obsolete. Since consoles run only the data for the games, some day they will find a way that the pc can focus on one opperation and leaving the others almost off, making the games run at least double as fast and smothly as normal.

well somehow i find that some games actually run better on my computer with a louder sound system and easier game play due to larger screen. I wouldn't say that handhelds suck but i feel the computer is major source for gameplaying

I think it is but it's the best way to go on a PC if you wanna move in some way it does that there's not always complicated joystick spinning around and clicking too much to make your thumbs hurt

PC gaming is not dead, in fact it's going pretty well... for Blizzard, Valve, and Stardock. I think as long as PCs have FPS and RTS games (since those two genres are best played on PCs), they're okay, so you'll have to excuse my disbelief.

I prefer PC gaming, true there's a lot of games out on the consoles that you shouldn't go without playing, but PC games has possibilties for modding only stopped by peoples imagination. And furthermore I like a keyboard and a mouse a lot more than a controller/joypad/whatever

Game makers will mainly focus on the consoles in the future (e.g. less games from consoles will be ported to the pc) since pc games get ripped of the internet instead of being bought in the stores, wich is a big profit loss for the game makers. Not saying that its going bad with the pc gaming industries tho.

I say that PC gaming is dying, but not dead. It can steal be brought back to life though.PC gaming offers a whole lot of options that consoles cannot try to emulate. Take for example, strategy games; though you can play them on consoles, a handy mouse is just more efficient most of the time. Even online games seem to belong on PCs instead, since the keyboard really helps out with the situation. I think that PC gaming should emphasize on these fortes. But I guess one of the reasons that PC gaming is losing out is because of the trouble of meeting system requirements and the constant upgrading required. While consoles just provide that convenient solve all system.

I've stated this before I think... we usually don't need to upgrade to the latest hardware any more frequently than say, 5 years unless you HAVE TO go for the extreme quality... Most of the latest PC games with medium settings are comparable to PS3 version games. And upgrading only certain hardware (such as GPU and RAM) is usually cheaper than buying a brand new console that will also make the entire previous console useless as the new console would usually support games for the older console.

PC gaming is not going to die simply because most people tend to own a computer, instead of a game console.

People have been saying that PC gaming is dying forever. It isn't dying, and it certainly isn't dead. PCs aren't designed solely to play games. Consoles are.

Firstly, ilikeweed you are a fool! Games are not better on consoles! They are often the same EXCEPT when playing online and PCs win every time. Have a look at Call of Duty 4 on either XBOX 360 or PS3 online. Then look at it on a decent gaming PC and it is a whole new world; much, much faster, more players, more action. Consoles will never look as good as games on a good PC, nor will they be able to cope with what the latest PC technology can do. Consoles are convenient and sometimes more relaxing to play on.No the PC is not dead but there is far less choice now available to PC gamers. I use an Xbox 360 for fun and my gaming PC (best of everything in the box) for serious fun! My friends with PS3 can't believe the difference when they see DX10 games!

if something dosent happen soon....pc games will be dead. the company's will stop making them and move to other consols. too much pirating going on. if there is no money in pc they will leave to consoles. witch is just as bad as pc. exspcialy the xbox360, i see tones of games out for the xbox360 and they can burn them on a disk uising a stealth method and play online!

Pirating wont stop PC gaming. sure, about 3 days after a new kind of copy protection or such is used, BAM! its rendered useless. and sometimes it can be a pain for honest paying gamers, and those god-forsaken updates. and "Invalid" CD keys, and games that are to much for your computer to handle. But as long as PC are there and being made/used for other things, they will be used for gaming. just because its still there.while i'm at it, PCs are for big boys who can handle a powerful toy... And that dont cry when they break it.

I think both PC gaming and system gaming will always have their place (and don't forget handhelds). Consols are great for the casual users who want reliable systems to work with, while PCs offer more customizability and a greater feeling of "control" over the game, which is a big thing for more advanced gamers. And handhelds, well... People don't fish out billions every year to play crummy games on their cell phones for no reason. The act of taking your game with you is a big thing and the main reason the DS does so well.
