PC games are probably the best, computers taking gaming to a level unmatched so far. Xbox 360 is gunning for pc, but still PC is undoubtly the best way to go, PS2 is horrible, and gamecube, well its a cube and purple enough said

No way, it's almost impossible. Almost all game at Xbox,PS1,PS2 and other game start to create for PC version. Almost all of the game can be played in PC( with emulator :P ). So PC gaming will never dead.

PCs require a great deal of technical knowledge to make a game run well and to keep up with the requirements of newer games, on top of all that, PC games tend to be much more unstable than console games.IMO we should stick with consoles, they will eventually inherit all the benefits of the PC and none of its weaknesses. PCs make my head hurt.

PC games are fun, but they aren't the top notch they could be.

the godfather was an amazing game and i beat it on the pc....though the pc has the technology to play incredible games with incredible graphics it seems that the consoles are simply taking over........i mean the godfather was great but i have only been playing online games besides that.....any boxed game u can by in a store simply cant compete to a 1080p'd graphic game you can get for the ps3 or a motion controlled wii game....

PC game is ever improve... well.. if u get console... imagine... PS1... then PS2 came, and spend more buying.... then now PS3, and spend more money buying it... its way to expensive just for game

boardnmike The odds of PC games dieing out as a whole is incredibly slim to none... While I am inclined (But not for the same reasons) to agree with you that console games have been & are continuing to be better then the mass majority of what PC gamers swear by... The sheer fact is there are MILLIONS of people who swear by there PC's over console game play... Probably because wean they go to actually try a console game they just end up buying a watered down port of a PC game. The fact is consoles are great for there unique titles like Mario & Zelda... And for me those games have a hands down advantage over ANYTHING on PC in every way except for graphics... And at the end of the day just like with girls, personality & soul win over good looks every single time... This is not to say that the PC hasn't seen it's fare share of golden moments... But they are VARY RARE compared to what we console gamers are blessed with... So much so that games like DOOM 3 & World of Warcraft are almost always undisputed as the best there is in the gender untell something else comes along further down the road... Ware as in consoles we ALWAYS see "The best of Year ****" in magazines & TV... But despite this seemingly overwhelming one sided favor, PC games will not go quietly into the night... As skyguy said... PC are multipurpose! People don't buy them just to game on but since it's an option... Why not? As for consoles it's best if they simply stick to what they know... This is why I think SONY is on the fast track to PS3 Hell... Every console that has EVER tried to be more then just a specialized Gaming device has failed horribly... Because they cater to VARY different minded people then PC's do... Games are not the first & foremost order on the table for PC buyers... There much welcomed but not the one & only point of forking out up to $10,000 in some extreme case'... While consoles on the other had are just like movie players... People by them for just that ONE thing it's meant to do well... People play movies in DVD players all the time... Has this effected your ability to play them on your Computer? No... Not really... The same with games...

PC gaming dying na. The way I see it thier is alot of game out thier that would be hard to control by a controller example I played a demo of Half-life 2 for Xbox and I notice the controls are hard as hell to use and the graphics were not very good. My old Nvidia geforce 2 MX/MX 400 could do better graphic on a DX 7 card. Half - Life 2 is only good on a computer with a keyboard

Godfather wasn't even such a good game. It was just a GTA clone with some additions/changes. And it doesn't even play that nicely. It's mediocre at best. Even worse, they ruined the Godfather franchise with this piece-of-**** game, a game that hardly honours the series. And the fact that you like it so much, boardmike, doesn't mean it's a good game, or that it's the only good game around for PC/etc.The Godfather game: rinse and repeat. Even when you rise in status you'll have to take over warehouses all alone. Even when you've become Godfather, your servant call you a kid, and you still need to take over joints yourself. When you're the Godfather you should sit in your expensive room, calling the shots, drinking wine, not running around. Godfather is rubbish.

The PC won't die out, it's the easiest platform to develop games for, and any homebrewer can find it easier enough, whereas consoles generally require a special piece of code from the console maker they are developing for which will allow the game to work.

Vary true... For all we know in the next fifty years the PC market might be dominated by Nintendo... Hey... More surprising & random stuff has already happened... Back wean I was 12, I & every other kid I knew would have beat the living crap out of you if you went around telling people that there would come a day wean we would be playing Sonic the Hedgehog games on a Nintendo console...

I think I'm only bothered about the Half-Life games now. I bought a 7800 last year, but I haven't bought a game in 6 months. It's Literally dead to me.

I hate to sound like a commercial for Microsoft, (I don't particularly like them, but it's where the games are...), but they have a bunch of new initiatives trying to bring PC gaming back to the forefront. Heck, Windows Vista has a Games Explorer! Right in the Start menu! It's supposed to have a bunch of ways to organize games, plus Vista is also optimized for gaming (supposedly). Look that up, plus the Games for PC initiative.

There are still a few strategy games made up until now, only that the distributors may have been bankrupt. That is why they stopped.

PC gaming will survive if chip companies can reach a point where they don't improve their hardware so easy. Look at it this way. XBoX 360 and PS3 and wii will be using the same hardware for what...5 years or so? What will computers be on then? Pent 8? AMD 6000? Its getting hard to have a gaming capable machine that lasts for more than 1 generation of new games. Thats why PC gaming is dying out. When I play a game on my PC i feel more imeressed than I do when playing a 360 game on my HDTV. I mean my PC room is completly dark and I use headphones mainly. In my living room I have surrond sound but its not the same. Also PC games are easier to tinker and change up.:DOh and emulation ftw!!

While I love console games, I think a great advantage computers have over consoles is that patches and fixes from the developers are so much easier to come by and implement. Consoles still have a long way to go before they can match the diversity a PC offers.
