PC games have the potential to have incredibly advanced graphics, whereas consoles are limited by the technology available at when they were developed.

VARY well said... The one if not ONLY advantage of PC games is (And only providing they are coded correctly) there expandability & MASS cross-platforming... However this is a double edged sword... While there are several obvious advantages to a game emulating itself instead of conforming to a system standard emulation... There's a also a vary BAD side to it as well... Windows, Lynix or Mac OS whatever are just doing there own thing while the game is doing it's own thing... This much is OK... But... Win, Lnx, or Mac + Game + Game + Game + Game + Game = BAD... PC games are far from user friendly & it's vary easy if you don't know what your doing to get your PC to beat the living crap out of itself like a manic depressive mental case... While this is not that bad of a thing for most, it is enough to stress people out to the point of quiting wean they have to spend hours installing & configuring update patch's just to get the game to look right on there system... or even worse... They have to do the same just to USE there PC system after the un-install took more then it should out of the system drivers... :(

Yeah, that's not true..... PC games are really basically leaving consoles behind, right now games like Half-Life 2: Episode 1 have already outdated the graphics on PS3 and Xbox 360, and I know this for a fact.

Well... What do you expect? No kidding considering a PC monitor is run in high to ultra high def... We are still a good several years off before they perfect possessing technology in entertainment toys to the point there there's no visible difference in looks between them & more massive possessors intended for mass multi-tasking... Your PC monitor was intended to be read like a sheet of paper... Last time a checked even 1080p can't match that fine of a picture. If you where to run your PC on a 1080p TV it would look a little washed out... And likewise the few consoles that interface with PC monitors ala VGA or DVI cable & support ultra high def, end up looking just about as good as most PC games of their time... The Dreamcast game Grandia 2 is a good example of this...You should never judge the worth of a console game in terms of how good it looks, as the PC version will always win there... Consoles however are always stable which is a hell of a lot more then you can expect of a PC game... If you can show me a PC title that has a 100% compatibility on ALL known PC's regardless of the possessor, brand name, add on files (Flash ect...), operating system, AND without any patch's... I think I hell itself would quake in fear of you... Java I think is as close to that as you can get, & even it isn't 100% with the REALLY old stuff... As I said PC games are just a add-on to the PC experience NOT something a PC was made for regardless of the PC's intended use...Consoles are made strictly for a gaming experience & as such will always have one up on PC games in terms of interface & ease of use... But if you are one of the countless fools out there who would spend $600 on a big boy toy simply because the graphics are prettier... No office but could you PLEASE give your money to a starving kid or someone who could at lest make better use of it... If I had The money right now to buy a PS3 & there was one siting right in front of my face & no one was in line at the store checkout... I would leave the store, go online & find some shiny new parts for my PC instead... That or make a vary detailed list of all the Wii games I'd buy...

I highly doubt that this will happen. PC currently has numerous advantages over game consoles, and would even have loyal followers for its gamesThe PC has so much more that game consoles:1) The mouse- No video game consoles currently have this. This allows much more precision and takes 1 hand2) Upgradability- The PC is much more upgradable than current consoles on the market. It's kind of hard to fix a gamecube3) accessories- This could go under upgradability, but the PC can be given numerous things. I saw a drink holder that gets attached to the tower at one time.4) Ease of programming- PC games can be programmed more easily, I'm learning C++ right now, and I can sort of make my own game for it5) Backwards compatability- The new consoles are not all backwards compatible. Look at the PS3. The computer has some problems, but can play lots of old games.6) WoW- umm... there are tons of WoW addicts out there who probably wouldn't give it up

lol, ps3 isnt going to be everlasting. it's gonna last about 5 years, just like the ps2, then we'll be moving on like always. the PC gaming, however, still has so many edges over the consoles. MMORPG's just aren't the same on a console. besides, the internet, once it's being fully utilized, will be the key to keeping the PC on top.

its a never ending debate to put it simple i personally lke console but when i comes to serious gaming consols have hardware limitations while pc's can be upgraded as and when requied other problem would be cost Pc games can be a bit more expesnive if hardware cost is added(Graphic cards are not that cheap) compare to cosnoles as they tend to recover the console price through licencing and another great fact would be types of games consoles are very verstile in this part while pcs work great in RTS and Shooters. But than again there are not much Action Adventure games on pc and a part from that i think todays gaming trend is towards MMOG and consoles do work great on that but u can never beat the expirence with a PC to put it simple try playing Quake 3 arena throigh a mouse and keboard and then compare it with a joypad. And as for dying out well its rather hard to say as long as there is internet and muliplayer games pc gmaes wont going to die although they may be a bit low right now but the modings and free games will always keep PC gaming alive

PC in the near future can outclass and match the power of a console.. MMORPG (i know that there are for consoles) on PC's rox (lot to choose from than console MMORPG), LAN gaming is still going strong, plus... first person shooters are best when played with a keyboard and pubs.. PC gaming is not dead!

Actuall if you look at computer evolution, PC has no limitations when it comes to power. NES, playstation, and even Wii will soon phase out because newer games require stronger engines. PC, however, can be easily modified into a stronger machine. Although you have to look for the right parts.

pc gaming is definitely not dead. there are many titles for the pc that are fantastic. and they keep coming out. imo you can't play an FPS on a console no matter how good it may be. you need the keyboard and mouse.
