rabidgoblin-way better and way more games for the ps3? How would you know. They haven't released the list being released on either so its strange that you know.TNHitokiRi-I thought the xbox360 wouldn't be fully backwards compatible if compatible at all. Using ATI instead of Nvidea would make it nearly impossible to be backwards compatible because I don't think microsoft is going to pay Nvidea for the rights. Last I saw they said it might be backwards compatible with the most popular games.

my environment will greatly improve as i get to throw away a machine instead of having two in my tiny tiny gaming room (xbox – xbox360). same goes for gc – revolution, if I ever get one of those. and I suggest that you wait for 360 as all good games probably going to be playable anyway and it will come squeals i.e. amped 3 and top spin 2 :P the price, well we’ll just have to wait and see.

nope, not true.. major nelson says that it will be 100% backwards compatible.. Besides, Nvidia is just the GPU.. You dont need a specific GPU on your PC to run a certain game, do you? XBOX games will be emulated to run on the xbox 360.

if you dont have an xbox buy one now...it is a versatile machine, assuming that you are willing to mod it...i would wait about 12 to 18 months after the 360 release to buy. The good games have to come out first and the price will drop. But who knows how moddable it will be...probably not an lp1 bus on this one

That doesn't makes the BC story more believable however.Current XBOX uses a custom x86 processor, and the X360 will use a custom processor ARCHITECTURE. How are they going to pull that one off?Maybe like AMD does with their AMD 64 FX processors? Who knows?

Since XBOX360 is backward compatible, wait for the XBOX360 instead. However, you could consider a second-hand XBOX too, since there should be quite a lot of people off-loading it when the release of XBOX360 nearing.

It all depends on what you want your Xbox to do for you. The Xbox360 mod community will take some time to get together, so I'd recommend getting a regular Xbox and modding it out. It all depends on your moral/ethical viewpoint on modding and/or piracy and whether or not you want to pay the money it's going to take to get your Xbox up to speed. Because this is a forum on a ROM download site I don't think anybody here is too squeamish about trying before buying, so you may as well take advantage of the mature mod community for the existing box and once the xbox360 mod community is mature, the console will probably significantly cheaper than at launch.

I don't know how much money you want to spend for the console, but I think if you want one now buy the xbox, because when xbox360 comes out it would be much more expensive! After a few years first it will cost the same as the old xbox!

*huge explosion out of nowhere* Super Vegeta is BACK and with a vengence! :evil:It won't be backwards compatible completely, only top selling games and we all know Halo is one of them. :D
