I liked the game, but it definately should not have required a gameboy and an adaptor cable to play the multiplayer version of the game. Thats the only thing I dont like about Nintendo, they always try to enhance gameplay by combining their systems, but not everyone can do that. I dont have a gameboy and dont have any friends that do either (to my knowledge), so i never did get to experience the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Definetly has a very sweet multiplayer mode and all, but you go too far calling it the best game ever. Infact, it get very boring after a while.

Im sry, but when i bought this game i was thinking, "wow, final fantasy multi player! Awsome!" Then. when i started playing i realized that the multiplayer sucked. Maybe it would have been fun with four people, but with only two it sucked. One of us was always carrying the stupid pot, which i HATED!!! Besides that, they used hearts for health... HEARTS, wtf? i would have prefered a damage system with HP and defence rather than losing half a heart for getting hit. I think that the storyline was desent, but still lacked the RPG feel that i loved about final fantasy. Also, there were like no skills! Sure, it was a fun game for a while, but quite a letdown compared to the other final fantasy games...

I really can't agree with "Best Game Ever"...This game is/was more focused on multiplayer than it was on single player action. A limited inventory space, some items available to only certain family trades, no transferring of hand-me-downs to newer characters, better spell effects available to only those who travel in larger parties, and a rather repetitve gameplay come to mind as to why I don't think this is that "best" of a game ever. Let's not forget Cure/Curaga - too overpowered, especially in 2+ people games - in the best case scenario, you are fighting against a single target (boss) and are all clumped together - have your Yuke stay out of blast damage and cast Cure on all of you at once non-stop. Or, have two people cast Curaga non-stop. And about the limited inventory space - they should've just allowed the same types of items to be stackable (except equipment). To close of the "cons" paragraph, the menu system of this game is what killed it IMO - you spend too much time there (especially when you run into inventory problems and/or are in large dungeons) and not enough time doing other things. It was innovative though, I will give it that. Team-oriented spells, survival tactics and adventuring was pretty cool. Also, Focus attacks and Fusions were nice additions to the game but as you can see, it just isn't enough to keep me playing this game since the cons outweigh the pros too heavily.

Really?...I personally think that this blemished the FF title a little bit...And IMO, I believe that the only reason why it had a "Final Fantasy" tag on it was because it wouldn't sell otherwise.

The multiplayer thing was dumb. They shouldn't hav made you use a Gameboy to go multiplayer and it was gettin borin. Otha than that it was good to play wit friends.

this game wasnt the greatest...but then again it has its perks..kinda repetitive in a sense althoughthe levels do get harder each time u complete them....all in all i think square enix could have done alot better with this onethe zelda like hack 'n' slash just isnt final fantasy material
