i cheat when i finish the game, unless i'm stuck on a certain point where i can't pass after numerious attempts

Counting walkthroughs/maps, I cheat fairly often, but on most occasions it's when the game becomes needlessly tedious or because of fake difficulty added to pad the game's play time.

That's as low as it gets, game devs. You hear me? I'm pirating every last padded game I see, even if it kills my wallet and internet connection. You greedy bastards.

If you count walkthroughs yes, or if I am trying to film the game I am playing to show something off. For instance, in Seiken Densetsu 3, I used a cheat to get some of those special ??? Seeds, but that is about it. I didn't feel like grinding for them.

I usually cheat after I've beaten the game for fun, or, in some cases, if a hacked (=modified) game (such as Pokémon Ruby Destiny - Rescue Rangers or Life of Guardians) gets extremely tedious and nearly impossible to solve without cheats, then I do.

But usually only after I've beaten the game.

I usually only cheat on games to give a new gameplay element to the game like messing with the physics or something that adds a different challenge to the game. when it comes to online play I don't cheat. The only game I would say is the exception would be Mario Kart on the Wii or DS when I run into a cheater. Use the cheats to cheat the cheater. Bob ombs away!

Only if i've either beaten the game, or if I come to a part where I absolutely cannot get through no matter what.

I don't cheat, because cheating takes all the fun out of the game. Why play a game, if you're just going to cheat?

I cheat on some games. If using a strategy guide for games like Final Fantasy is cheating then I guess I do it a lot. I don't use the books because I think I won't finish without it. But, to fully immerse myself and have access to every aspect of the game.

 

Some games are still virtually impossible even when you do cheat. For example I have never finished the first TMNT for NES even with the game genie. Same thing for Battletoads.

 

Sometimes I use the Game Genie when playing something like TMNT 2: The Arcade Game with my kids so they can reach the end of the game with me.

I find that reasoning to be at fault. In fact I think the opposite. Why not play a game if you're not going to cheat.I didn't play grand for the plot, I played specifically to going on killing sprees and completing the story in between. I've always cheated in Sims cause I wanted them the way I wanted when I wanted. If cheats weren't meant to be used they wouldn't have been made to begin with.

 

And yet, part of what makes games fun is the challenge. Cheating takes the challenge out of it, makes it too easy.
