Sonic the hedgehog is cooler of course, but Super Mario videogames are much better than Sonic 2D's.

Mario, personally. There's just osmething about his games that click for me.That, and Sonic doesn't seem to have aged quite as well.. Though I've heard okay things about Rush.

im sorry to say but sonic would win, mario can do some amazing stuff but he cant out run sonic at the speed of sound, nor can mario freeze time.

As much as I disliked Sonic 3, Sonic would win just cuz he's super fast. Mario wouldn't have a chance.

Sonic is so much better than Mario. And with Sonic Adventure 1:Director's Cut & 2:Battle there is no doubt why Sonic is better although personal I think knuckles is better than both

2D worldMario- Jump and run- Invincible when get star power- special ability = Fire ( flower ) , Fly ( feather ) , etc Sonic- Jump , run , and Spin on the floor- Invncible when all emerald colleted - Special ability = Fire , Water , Eletric Conclusion = Mario will lose , cause too slow . Sonic too damn fast. ( In Race mode

Marios games are better but in a fite sonic would win, sonic would run circles around mario ... no really sonic would run circles around mario with his speed, sonic would win in a fight

Meh. Mario stars in better games, while Sonic is a better overall character... therefore in a straight fight Sonic would probably win. But who cares? I'd much rather see a clash between Bowser and Robotnik personally.

Sonic is definitely cooler, and sega should've continued to make systems, its a shame dreamcast had such horrible games.

i use to like sonic on sega genesis(whack)... but that was ten years ago and mario is been around before I was born and it is still around and doing well.

this would have to be a hard decision. i think mario does have some fire powers and flying abilities but sonic can run super fast. but out of these two characters i would have to choose mario because his fire powers could toast sonic and he could fly away.

Mario would kill Sonic. And a cool fight would be Mario and Luigi
