for me Final Fantasy 7, because of all the twists in the story, believe i didn't expect the Aeris death, the meteor thing and the cloud change of heart, seriously he really loved aeris so much that even after the game he's still in pain and the villian (Sephirot of course ) one of the best in all the games i know, then well maybe the FFX game Story, more specifically with the Tidus story like been just a dream and Auron a dead in live just to guide the son of his comrade and knowing all he's still firm to his duty really great story B) :P

Final Fantasy 7, I mean you can play the game so many times and yet still learn something new about it, like: Vincent was the lover of Sephiroth's mother, The northern crater was created by the alien Jenova when she arrived on earth, the weapons were created to destroy Jenova, Professor Ghast is Aeris's father and so much more...

I would say FF8, for me its the longer and more complicated story. I dont know, the love story between Rinoa and Squall gives a very good touch to the game.

I think Final Fantasy VII was better. It had a nice smooth storyline, easy to follow. Its kind of hard to understand though. The weapons are ok, challenges was ok, the mini-games was ok!Final Fantasy VIII kind of blew it for me. In the first disc, it was really smooth, when the discs kept going, I think Square Soft (Didn't merge with ENIX yet) got very lazy and just made the weapons and monsters for disc 2, 3, and 4. The story was like rushing after disc 1, not very detailed.

I Liked seven's story best followed by six, I like six's characters a lot and gameplay, lol, but I think seven is a little better.

I agree with u all that FFVII has a great story, but I dunno whether I can consider it the best since it was quite complicated and confusing too(somehow :P ).The story was very wide and I dun quite understand the game when I beat it the 1st time(mayb coz I'm stupid XD ) .Anyway, that make it more replay value. And,I personally prefer FFVIII storyline since the it was clear enuff to be understand.

Final fantasy VIII - the only FF game I liked and played until the end, all the others sucked for me! The story of FF VIII is so unique and Squall is such a swell guy - a game I will always remember! :(

FF7 for me. It was just great... Discovering his past and cloud being a special character with hidden abilities and such... it just makes it so interesting. Things happen so randomly it's great. Like falling through the roof of the chapel to meet Aeris. So awesome. The sense of urgency and adrenaline is great too. Plus all of the sidequests are interesting. Such a hard game, too and there's so much in it. I love this game.

Final Fantasy 7 i mean Aries being killed and if that wasn't enough then you find out that Cloud wasn't really in Solider but just a common Shinra foot solider (If i remember right). That through me for a loop.

I reackon final fantasy 7 is the best, the storyline is a bit short but it is twisting which makes it even better ,like when Aeris dies and teh different side of cloud

FF7 is pretty 'cuz of aeris death but ff8 is better cuz it's very complex and I had to finish it from the beggining to understand everything and get every GF/Card

Well theyre all good from 6 upwards... I cant really recommend 4 or 5 because I simply did not understand the story in them, and while the original is good, FF2j is incredibly difficult and 3 is the same as six, so...Id say 6 is a story about humanity, and its incredible flaws... oldest game in the series but the soundtrack is excellent and the story... this is a must play.7 is about life death and rebirth, among other things... the second on your must play list.8 is... well I cant really say, I never got into it. Kinda sucked in my opinion, but its just because its different. Dont take my opinion into total account because yours might be different, but... yeah.9 is complicated. Third must play.Typically if you have the money and the time Id recommend starting with 7 and if you dont like it (which would be a shame, while the story is a little hard to understand I loved it), you can then go onto 6 (which in my opinion tends to be the general favorite along with 7), and afterwards 9 and finally if you like, 8.I do not recommend 10, 10 was not only slow as sin, (wow a pun), but the story really wasnt that great. Something about "a dream about a dead civilizations dream about an evil monster dad." To quote penny arcade. :rolleyes:X-2 is good if you played and enjoyed 10 however dont let that fool you into thinking you need to play and beat 10, it isnt nessecary. X-2 is a bit lopsided on the whole... story thing, however the gameplay is fun and interesting. In the end its all up to you... theyre all very much worth playing. Except 10. Dont play 10, or Ill send the assassins to kill you. <_<

I think it a tie between FFVII and FFIX. I wasn't really all that impressed with the story of FFVIII
