Heck yeah!!! I play GTA 4, Left for Dead, House of the Dead 4 (haha. EPIC FAIL. So ancient.), Rockband 1 AND 2 (freakin' expert in bass and guitar. woot! :]), Guitar Hero III(sometimes. lost the cd.), Soul Calibur III, Guilty Gear, Starcraft, Mirror's Edge, and a whole lot more. I'm a girl, born in a family of gamerz.

This shouldn't even be a question that needs to be asked... but I guess there are people who think that they shouldn't. I personally think girls are a lot more interesting if they actually do play games. Gives me even more things to talk to them about.

Me too!girls DO play games....you just dont see them! I'm a girl and I love games, and not those girly girl stuff....gross. I like golden sun and all that rpg fun!
and I agree with your statement, you just don't see them as often as guys playing games :DP.S I play all the games my brother plays, thats why we get along so well!

It is totally wierd how girls tend not to be too interested in gaming.I mean that attitude in the world "we can do anything guys can do and do it better" should if anything encourage girls to whoop our butts.but they just tend not to be interested. (and yes girly games targeted FOR girls absolutely REEK!!!) But yeesh one of my girl friends (girl who is friend) absolutely RULES at the Halo games. she average on every weapon but the sniper and sparten laser, then your toast 
. Sigh.... I wish more girls were like her...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~u r wrong my friend... im a girl and i simply love Gears of Wars and Haloif u think girls just like cute stuff and that then u r not from this centurytotaly right we love games and i personaly love Zelda, halo, GoW, and any action/ roll gameoh and i almost forgot the MMORPG i cant simply live without them sayonara^_^i think they do like games, but prolly not violent ones, mostly racing games and stuff

I'm a girl, and I love games, mostly RPG's though, platformers, and action games. Not big on shooters, though I have beat BioShock, and played Halo a little. Bloody games don't bother me, I own both Gow 1+2. Meanwhile my female cousin plays online, and plays all kinds of shooters, and she kicks butt, and despite her name being one that obiviously makes her a girl, she gets asked all the time, "Are you a girl?". Why is it that some people still can't accept the fact that girls can play games too?

@gintsukimegamiAh, give it a generation or so. Not saying it'll stop, but there'll probably be support in more games to let people know your gender

My nieghbor plays video games all the time and she can shoot your leg and kick you while your on the ground in almost any game.

Believe it or not girls have always been playing video games. I know plenty of girls whove been playing since the NES days. Its only now we put them in a freakshow. OMG LOOK GIRL GAMERS!!!! people need to stop being so discriminating

Is it so wrong when they see a gamer girl? Why it is so weird to peoples eyes? I got the same question when my friends (boys) when they know I'm a gamer like them, they say "You're a girl, what does the girls know about gaming?" Really, it's really insulting to hear that. And even though I'm a girl, I don't mind playing action or horror games, though I really prefer RPG one. Just don't conclude that the girls only stick with racing and girlie games. There's a lot of tough gamer girls outta here.

as a boy, i think most girls arent good at vid games, but i know that not only boys who are gifted at playing games, so i believe it's a common thing to find a girl playing games

Girls kick ass @ video games... and I dont just mean games that are labeled as stereotypically 'girl games' like Cooking Mama, Harvest Moon & Puzzle games like Tetris... (although mind you I do rock at tetris!) As a chick gamer I really enjoy all genres of video games. I love playing classic RPG games like FF & Secret of Mana... but I also really dig games like Doom, Unreal & MGS. I also really love Guitar Hero atm... and am proud to say that I whoop my BF's ass at it 
Also i'm addicted to World of Warcraft and have have a epic'd out raiding Troll Hunter (See my Sig. She's Pwns!!).. Oh yeh and I love Diable & Stracraft too. =)So yeh.. basicly my point is that chicks don't just like the same types of games... or the ones that you expect them to.

It doesn't matter what people say you know they're still gonna play but tome it doesn't matter. Guys are good some games and Girls are good at other games. I don't care if a girl beats me in a game. I have real bad problem with losing.

I see girls liking fighting games or stupid kiddy games such as my girlfriend but when it comes to serious gaming i dont see them as much and when i do see them its usually because they have an agenda such as that whole "anything you can do i can do better" mentallity
