in order of best to worst - 1) VII2) IX3) VIIII'm a big fan of VII, considering it was my first FF :DI never played Tactics so I can't say. ERGHEIZ, the fighting game, isn't too bad either, but VII and IX are better though

I would say between 7 n 8. FF7 i liked their specials and the story better. FF8, i liked thier summons n boss battle

I agree in every possible way. I especially like FFI, it is amazing, especially remade.FFVII probably is the best of the "current" however, but I haven't quite finished it, my brother took it with him to college.I think the best Final Fantasy is Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls. Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy VII and X are both awesome games, but there is just something about Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls that makes me want to play for hours at a time.

I don't get how people can not think ffvii isn't the best it had a much better story line than any other Final Fantasy game. the characters were original and most other games try to copy them. seven was the most character driven game i've ever played. eight was rather boring but still deserves its dusty spot on my shelf

Personally, I prefer Final fantasy 3 for the NES over all the others *Shrug*.. immense storyline there, my favourite by far. Final fantasy 5 being a close second.

FF6(SNES) is the best on my list, it had perhaps the best Villain out of all the series.FF4(SNES) is a close second, purely because of KainFF3(NES), FF5(SNES) and Tactics tie for 3rd, just because I like not having to be tied down to single-job characters.

Final Fantasy Tactics was THE best game ever. The storyline was amazing, the music is the best I've heard, and somehow, it made you love ALL the characters, even though the story was based mainly on Ramza. Besides, there's something incredibly magical about the world of Ivalice! 
Just because of that, I really liked Final Fantasy tactics Advance too, even though though it was really simplified. (I haven't played FFXII yet, but I'm sure I'll love it too, since it's based in Ivalice, neh?)

Final Fantasy 7 by far..after beating ff7, i knew immediately that i just played most likely the best game of my life..
