Dynasty Tactics, Langrisser, Suikoden, Lufia, Lunar, or Destiny of An Emperor would be most underrated ,but some reasons that many American fans are not interested to play those games.Oh, ROTK isn't underrated since all ROTK series but 5 released in America ,so I would say Nobunaga's Ambition series are the most underrated for America because those series haven't release in America for almost 12 years. Dynasty Tactics series are good games ,but many fans aren't interested to play those games for some reasons.Lufia series destroyed by Taito because they tried to convert Lufia's final series to non-traditional rpg i.e. puzzles and eliminate Sinistrals. I would like to buy Lufia series that's way I would revive them ,but I am not good at developing games and won't have enough money to purchase. Breath of Fire is also one of them that Capcom tried to convert from RPG to something including puzzles. Now, Konami nearly ruined Suikoden series because I couldn't believe that someone from Konami is so stupid to allow Kawano to ruined Suikoden series when she tried to develop Suikoden 4 so quickly so that she could develop new Suikoden Tactics.I don't know why Capcom stopped to develop Destiny of An Emperor series ,but those games except 3rd are good games. As for Lunar, Game Arts can't come up with storyline or creating something ,but I hope that they will develop new Lunar series ;otherwise, I would use "Choke Force" on them just like Darth Vader did.Masayan decided to not develop Langrisser series anymore ,so they sold the rights of Langrissers to Atlus which turned into Growlanser series.

Underrated games? I think most people here don't play Bemani games by Konami (like DDR, Beatmania IIDX, etc.). Those games really deserve credit (at least for most of the dgemu users).

Most definitely any game by NIS is underrated. As is Star Ocean, and Ys. Tales of the Abyss is as well (Although I'm just saying that cause I'm rabid Tales of fanboy >.<) Growlanser and Grandia III are definitely underrated as well.

Play .hack with j-audio/e-subtitles. All of them. If you start now, you'll have your end of game data saved for ep4, which *supposedly* integrates with the new .hack game.

I'd have to say this guy was right. .hack was one of the best PS2 series I have ever played. I mean it's an MMOrpg without the O. What better game than to simulate online play?

Final Fantasy X-2. *readies flame shield*I did quite like that game, despite not being a 12-year-old girl :( I thought the mechanics were well thought out and many of the attacks were interesting. Plus, it was nice to see the characters from FFX get more developed in the aftermath. The only think that irked me about FFX-2 was Rikku's logic of, "Well, Yunie needs to go in disguise, right? Let's make her wear... LESS CLOTHING!" :) Other than that, I thought it was pretty good.

I think that Vandal Hearts 2 was an underrated and almost completely overlooked game. It added character movement to turn-based rpg gameplay, making for a much more challenging and involved game. Despite this, not too many people I know have even heard of it.

Xenosaga and Suikoden are two great games that should recieve more praise than they're getting, but I'd say the most underrated series of all time would also be my absolute favorite: Shin Megami Tensei. Thanks to the USA never seeing the SMT series' origins due to religious and political conflicts not welcomed in games of the SNES era, a lot of people ended up being introduced to this massive series (and its sub series) via the Persona games. Unfortunately, SMT games have two traits that condemn them as an RPG series:1. The stories are dark and depressing, and usually very short, spanning a movie's length of time into a 50 hour game2. The games are unnaturally hard, actually requiring strategy, and may be more challenge than some players are looking forThat said, I'd have to recommend SMT to anyone with an open mind, and it is, without a doubt, one of the most underrated games.

I put it down for the underrated games because let's face it--you NEVER hear about a new Suikoden installment. It's a bum rap too, because they have some great stories and unique gameplay.

Alter Echo for SURE. I'm not sure if many of you know of it, so i'll explain it to you. There's a planet covered in a slop called multiplast which people dubbed "Shapers" can use to make things. The greatest shaper of all time is situated on this planet with an objective to make a new kind of plast. He suceeds and names it Echoplast. But as a spaceship with the main character and 2 of his friends approaches, he turns against them and blasts them out of the sky. When the main guy (Nevin) awakens, he is wearing a suit of Echoplast, and he finds out it is alive.Anyway, it doesn't have a wikipedia page, a neoseeker forum, or even a small fansite. Although it sounds lame, its pretty cool, considering you can change forms instantly, in the middle of a level, while moving. The graphics were 2nd to none for a 2003 release and the music was revolutionary. If you have a rare PS2 emulator, download the rom and PLAY NOW! Or even better, hunt around for the original like i did! I'm giving it 9.7 rubber chickens out of 10.
