I'm ganna have to go with N1's Disgaea. The characters and story are great, and it opened the path to a lot more unusual RPGs. ^^

must i pick one.....WLel lthen it has got to be disgaea. I base this on the fact that you could play disgaea for unlimited amoutns of time without. The ffx and x-2 ar egreat but they are limited to 100 hours at the most

Haaa I vote Final Fantasy, but I think there are best games on RPG and over PS2, that they aren't in the list

Final Fantasy hands down. Look how far it's come! It's progressed so much throughout its time. From being a simple nes rpg to now being an MMORPG. It's spanned 6 gaming consoles, soon to be 10, created 2 movies, and released countless trinkiets, phrases, and memorable charcters. Granted Kingdom Hearts has characters too but they're nothing but disney people and FF people. FF revolutiozined not only the turn based RPG but the overall RPG and still sets the standard.

I like metal gear solid 2's gameplay and storyline, but Final Fantasy is a more original type of RPG because of the leveling system.

In term of PS2 RPG it kingdom heart but if it was ps1 then i would have said FF series. They kinda made the PS2 FF series suck, i hope FF12 is alot better

the best rpg game i have played for the ps2 would have to be ff 10 because of the advanced config of the characters and the battle style that is always on all the ff games.

Mmm i'll say FFX cuz FFX2 is does not have the true final fantasy storyline in my oppinion
