Final Fantasy can never die. So long as their are still so many fans, Square-Enix shouldn't stop making them. Each game is a story, and so long as they can keep coming up with stories, why shouldn't it continue? It's guaranteed money in the bank!!! They wouldn't be THAT stupid......would they?

i agree with above poster. its just too great of a saga to just disappear then again i said the same with star wars. but if square keeps making good rpgs like FF 7 and 10 then there's no way it'll die.

Allthough it should, it will never die. Not that I hate the games, but come, every damn one is basicly the same.

You are speaking about the Square Cash Cow. The series is not going anywhere, atleast not until it no longer sells. I would expect we will be seeing FF games for a long time in the future though.

The saga will never die because the company will continue to churn out the games. But the whole idea isn't original, and while your off playing your complicated, crazy, RPG's, its nice to sit back and play a really simple one.And with a new director creating FF XII, the whole series is going in a new direction which is original and is sure to draw attention.Even if it will fade away, people will keep coming back because the stories are so dang good. Plot is what draws people to this series above all I think.

It think that FF Saga will die uberly slow if it does die. It's to popular to just all of a sudden die. If Mario, Zelda, and Kirby still continues on, FF will too cause FF has awesome graphics. Some of my friends told me that Square Enix planning to make a sequel to FF7 or make a remake of it. I'm not sure if it's true or just rumours though. Hopefully, it's true instead of rumours.

It's not true.If any of you have seen tech demos of FF7, its purely just a tech demo. At the end of E3, Square Enix made the announcement that an FF7 remake would not be made.

Without Amano and Uematsu.. well.. just look at FFX-2. Different, but not exactly a GOOD different. And this Ivalice knockoff for FFXII isn't exactly thrilling me. I'm honestly more excited about FFI&II for my GBA. I could only hope for FFI-VI for DS or something like that.. yeahhh that'd be hot. With touchscreen access for menu items? WOW!

I really, really, would like to say never, but you have to face the facts that all great things aren't meant to last.

Well, they've been slacking off a bit lately, but most people still consider them to be the cream of the crop. Unless something else can come to the fore, there won't be anything from stopping all the casual gamers from buying FF-XXIII, even if it is a piece of trash.Basically, as it stands right now, FF can (and are) rest on their lorels, and coast in the market. It takes a lot more effort to make a good game than to make a glitzy piece of garbage, so until someone says "Hey SQUARENIX, no more lousy games" you should only expect their games to continue to degrade. It's like The Who, a popular band in the 60's and 70's, for a breif moment, they were the best band the world had ever known. Sadly, money makes people lazy. It takes serious effort and committment to write music that's great and not just 'okay', they (and every other band that's ever existed) couldn't maintain the magic.
