Fable: The Lost Chapters, Morrowind, while a nice game, was always somehow...pointless to me.

I haven't played too many RPGs on the Xbox, but two of my favorites come to mind (which have been listed time and again): Morrowind and KotOR. They both have their strong points.KotOR was addictive when I first got ahold of it. I'd hijack my brother's copy as soon as he went to bed and stay up all night playing. Granted, it was a very linear storyline, but it really was a lot of fun. My problem with KotOR (and the reason I'm glad I didn't buy it) is that since the story is so linear, there isn't a lot of replayability. Once you've beaten the game, you've basically seen everything. Yeah, you could change alignment and see what happens, but it's still a linear story. You already know what's going to happen. With Morrowind, it's different because there are so many options and nuances and ways to deviate from the beaten path. Morrowind was also addictive when I first got my hands on it, though the load times are really annoying. But the realm is huge (even before the expansion packs [or GotY edition]), and, while you may have quests to accomplish, those can wait while you explore and do your own thing. There's replayability because the main quest isn't the sole focus of the game, which is awesome. I'm playing it for the third time (on the PC since my brother sold our Xbox ...), and I'm still able to do things I haven't done before, join factions and do quests I've never seen. Now... combat gets kind of annoying after a while, and the fifth time you hear the caw of a cliff racer coming at you while climbing through the mountains, you're bound to get a little irked, but it's really not so bad, and it's especially fun to play the game in different ways... Being able to accomplish the same quest through vastly different means. Level up and kill the baddies? Invisibility spell? Master stealth? There's just a lot more to it than KotOR.So... I'd have to say Morrowind, even though KotOR is a great game too. (At least the first time you play through it...)As an aside: I have played Shenmue 2, and it was an interesting game! It'd be up there with my favorite RPGs if I hadn't felt the controls were so awkward. I enjoyed how everything took a level of skill, but movement and combat and even some of the minigames were just... awkward.I haven't played Fable, but I would like to try it. I'm cautious, though, because there was a lot of hype around it, and then it seemed to fall short of a lot of people's expectations. It looks interesting, though. :(Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? I played the first one... and I felt it was one of the worst RPGs I've ever played. Though, I was comparing it to the original Baldur's Gate games for the PC... but the story and content were seriously lacking. It was like they just slapped together something at the last minute and threw you into a glorified maze game... and you couldn't even make your own character. It was just a huge letdown for me. I'll stick to playing the old PC games over again. ;)

I really prefered Baldur's Gate to the rest. Was just fun to play, and you weren't too disinterested by the end of it that you actually finished it.

Even with the announcement of new Halo projects, the principal trilogy won't be forgotten from our minds as fast as we may expect...

Halo forever!!

Definitely Morrowind. Fable was good and all but they said it was going to redefine RPG's and set the new standard WHICH IT DIDNT. So Im going with Morrowind.

Definately Morrowind. It goes for longer than Fable, and has a lot more stuff you can do.

Definitely Morrowind (although I think that the PC version is better, especially with all those mods), and Fable goes after that and I don't mean the normal one I mean The Lost Chapters.

Fable, I do believe revolutionized a few aspects when it came to the RPG scene. 3rd person camera with hack and slash elements. The ability to choose good or evil. Although it was never in depth as a Final Fantasy series with sidequests and length, it was still a very great game to play. I enjoyed Mass Effect, which is probably getting my vote at the present time. Very different playing style that they brought in with the Ability/Weapon Wheel as well as the classes from the beginning that determined your setlist of abilities and traits. The story was phenomenal and captivating. Battle was a little tiresome and frantic at times but still a very well polished game.
