Hmm... Funny, I thought 3 was better than 2. The storyline kinda went back to the first one. And those fat muthafcukers scared the bejeezus outta me.Agree with you about 4 though.... rented it out and I don't think I even played it for an hour (this is RARE for me) before finally accepting it was crap. I really wanted to like it too.The first two silent hills were so scary and exciting with a really thrilling storyline but it began to waver when it hit number three and number four was just a disgrace.

Loved it. The Secret Aliens ending is a pissa, this was probably the only game that really freaked me out and im a massive RE fan.

Reminded me abit of Darkseed the first time I played it, its a fantastic series of games that just oozes atmosphere. Apparently their adapting this into a movie, the story sticks pretty closely to the first game, however I have no hope for these game - movie conversions anymore, especialy not after how badly Resident Evil was handled.

and never will i forget the time me and my cousin were real bored so we hooked my PSone up to the big screen at midnight and turned off all the lights and turned the sound all the way up, man that part in the elementary school had us freaked out, you should do that...........if you're really bored anyway, get into it!

This is one of the games I was actually wishing would be remade. The graphics hurt the overall presentation of the game. If it looked as good as say, the REmake it would simply be an awesome game. I say it's my second favorite of the series with Silent Hill 2 only slightly ahead.

Silent hill is the best out of all of them fatal frame is a close second and resident evil, although a good game, is really not scary. i mean c,mon zombies are really not that scary. But But But Silent hill, and i'm talking about all 4 games when i say this, tend to feel like if there was something left out. like there was something missing from the experience. It really is not that hard to make this game scarier i mean way scarier than what it has been in the past.

there were some rumors flying around that the makers used phychiatrists (cant spell) to think up ideas for the game to actualy bring out peoples fears, it is one freaky game, im up to the new game of the room (not so new) the opening sequence scared the crap outa mee, although i was in the dark and alone, wierd thing was, i bought 3 games at the time, when i got home it was in the pile to make 4, and i had no idea how it got there, its like it wanted to be bought, freaky

i loved this game! at the time i was only little and me and a mate played that for hours scared ****tless! lol loved the story its a shame the successors couldnt achieve this games class.

Silent hill on the PS1 is the best, I repeat, THE BEST horror survival game. I really don't boast much that I keep finishing this game after dark to savor the experience... and not be able to sleep at night.But the thing about silent hill when resident evil 2 was around is that, a lot of people before tend to compare it to resident evil and saying that silent hill is a cheap resident evil clone. Why is that? Does silent hill have zombies that come out of closets? Do they have a deadly virus out to consume mankind? Heck no. Maybe it's the fog which was a glitch in the first silent hill because of the processing power that cannot show great distances but has only given silent hill it's signature creepy atmosphere. Or maybe it's because the reviewers have become too scared to complete this original and mind tackling game when they have entered the other school. Resident evil is more on sci-fi monster horror while silent hill is a psychological mind-f!$k horror that few... or rather none have dared to do before.

resident evil and silent hill were both really scary... i think the waiting for something to jump out at you is alot scarier than the enemies themselves... both were artfully crafted horror machines
