The post was reported, I followed the rule that was in place. You don't like it, have the rule removed then. Or modify it that if they edit it, they have to explain exactly why they edited, but frankly that's just as dumb as the current rule.Good job, spleen, you might as well have just made it set render and saved everyone five seconds of Googling. :|VG, I swear, you are a pretentious fucking idiot. First of all, we have exclusive VA mods for a reason. They were chosen because they now how to handle VA. We have an exclusive SOTW mod. I assure you these people have a better idea how to handle this than you do. If you absolutely must edit, add a freaking line at the bottom and deduct points or something if you want, don't remove the post entirely. If you must remove the post, don't act like a jackass while doing it. The people that do the actual judging are fully capable of excluding the guy. It's not like he was about to win anyway, so there was no point at all, just let him be.I don't know how much the no editing thing is in effect anyway. It's entirely possible and not very hard to change your sig without editing your post, so no one cares much about this rule. It's always been kinda dubious, and frankly I still don't really see why it's in place.

*lightbulb appears over head*You know what might be a good idea? Making the GP prize proportional to the number of entries. Something like say, 500x the number of entries maybe -- a round, high number.1) There'd be a higher reward for winning more competitive SOTWs, and a lower one for winning those empty "take it away" ones. Always good, am I right?2) It would probably make more people post. It's a little like a lottery, in a sense. "Hey, crap, the prize increases if I just post my sig, no catch! How exciting!" This, coupled perhaps with a 250 GP consolidation 'prize' for participation, would be plenty of incentive for people to enter.3) It's just more exciting in general, and it does seem like something drastic should be done to the system. This isn't quite that big a change, but with an announcement at the top of every forum it could probably be made to seem like it. "Important: There has been a major change in the reward system for the Signature of the Week contest! Effective this week, the GP prize for the winning signature will be proportional to the number of contestants (500x the number of entries!); if merely ten people enter, the prize for winning will be a whopping 5000 GPs!!! Also effective this week, participants will be rewarded for merely ENTERING! A valid entry will earn the participant 250 GPs! What's to lose? Why are you hesitating? Get in on the action!! [link]"I think you can see where I'm going with this. It seems like a pretty good idea to me.And I do think we're being a little too stingy with the GPs. Most people have a 30 to 1 conversion rate, for crying out loud, and there's only one winner a week.Sweet Jebus the theme isn't hard at all.If this gets 4 more entries before it's closed I'll add another 1k GP to the prize.-Bump for more entries- :<

What about themes that are just plain hard? wouldn't it also be a good idea to give higher rewards to SOTW with lower entries? Like instead of 500 Gp it would be 1000 times the number of entries if there is less than 5 but more than 2. That just seems that it would be slightly more fair. Other than that though this new system works great.1) There'd be a higher reward for winning more competitive SOTWs, and a lower one for winning those empty "take it away" ones. Always good, am I right?
