i also like the FE games.for those of you referring to the first and second FE games released in america, they are properly titled:"FE1" is actually Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword"FE2" is actually haha, i forget but it's number 7 lol(btw, the FE starring Roy is Fire Emblem: Sacred Seals. Roy is Eliwood's son, and this gba game wasn;t realeased in america due to its difficulty. however, this one has a friend who translated it for me :o)

Final Fantasy Advance is quite good, but Fire Emblem gets my vote in the end. Its much more original than FFA

I love my Fire Emblem. Especially FE6 and 7. :D 8 was alright, but not as good. I also love Advance Wars and FFTA was alright (nothing compared to original Tactics). haven't played Yggdra Union yet.

Yggdra Union is now my favorite for strategy, the first game where I ever lost a battle. In this game you actually have to employ alot of strategy to get the MVP bonus. In FE I was able to power level 2 characters, usually Lyn and Hector and they were able to plow through the whole game, with other characters mainly as support for healing and holding items. Not so with Yggdra Unionto get the +2 MVP bonus, you have to complete each level as quickly as possible so you have to utilize unions therefore you have to use all your characters pretty much equally, and you have to match up your unions correctly to match their unions, or you will lose a battle. If you don't get the +2 MVP bonus then you characters' stats are severly gimped compared to the enemy's later on.In Advance Wars once you know the enemy's range you pretty much win, because you know who to set up for hits and when to heal. The AI pretty much goes straight for you, so they leave themselves wide open for counterattacks, until the very end of the battle, but by that time you outnumber them by so much that there is no way you can lose. In Yggdra Union the ai, pretty much waits back and lets you come to them, so you have to move your army together and make sure they are in Union positions at all times, or the enemy will union you and easily wipe out your units.I like all 3 games but with Yggdra Union I just give it the edge due to strategy.FFTA I won't mention in strategy since you can pl your units till its just a beatdown. But it does win in customization.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance2. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones3. Tactics Ogre:The Kngith of LodisThe Fire Emblem series has and will always be my favorite, hwoever Square really delivered with FFTA, then there's always the Tactics Ogre/Ogre Battle series.

Yeah, and I especially loved the one on N64, but they outdid theirselves with the GBA Tactics Ogre, the detail and customization is superb as always.

Fire Emblem is basically the only real choice here, as Advance Wars, while great, doesn't have an adept storyline or much replay value compared to the Fire Emblem GBA games. (Although, I personaly enjoy Path of Radiance more than Sacred Stones and I forgot FE7's proper name, think it was Blazing Sword.)

I agree with Kratos, you could just see there was more effort in Fire Emblem, granted Advance Wars is still a superb game if you want a challengeBut im currently trying to get Yggdra Union to see how it is

Fire Emblem for me, the fact that your characters die permenantly might be frustrating but it makes it more difficult (not too difficult though ^^; than other SRPGs which I feel are usually too easy. (FFTA anyone?)
