Well, Im on the last level of Halo, so I feel its time i can judge which of these games is better. And to be honest, it wasnt really close.Halo: the only category this game wins in is controls. I played it on the pc, so i took advantage of the mouse/wasd setup, but ive played the traditional dual analog stick fps setup many times before. either way halo wins in controls even with nintendos slick lock on feature. Other than that, Halo fails to compare. Even with a monumental ending, this game cannot pull off the enjoyable experience of MP. Everything in Halo is the same. Theres no real progression in your character, or even the game, other than the plot line (which admittedly was not bad). You fight the same half dozen aliens the whole time, and every installation you invade and shoot up look the same. The vehicles weren't bad, but didnt make up for the monotony. shoot, duck, reload, recharge. shoot, duck, reload, recharge.Metroid: contains a much more interactive and detailed environment. Metroid contains dozens of creatures in the wild, and at least as many varieties of space pirates as there are convenant. The addition of skills and abilities over time gave me a greater sense of accomplishment, and the boss fights were highlights of the game. The pace of the game was very controlled, and the story that eventually unfolds is very satisfying. The play was much more varied and puzzle based rather than squeez and spray.game length: they were both about the same. i beat both in less than 2 weeks, around 20-25 hours for each game.graphics: since pc graphics depend on the system, i dont have much relevant to say from my experience. when played xbox vs gc, they are very comparable though.both were good games, but only one deserves to be in the top 10 of all time.

yah, i second what you say.for metroid its lot more suspense and atmosphere, halo is just..um.......aliens.but thats not saying its bad, i mean, masterchief totally kicks donkey for a women, and the weaponary for halo 2 has been improved upon by A LOT, so in reality, i would say halo 2 is the competition of metroid, not halo 1ps. just a thought...masterchief v samus...cat fight...would would win... :D

So you played the pc version of Halo? That isn't a fair comparison. I personally like Halo better because I like the environments better and the available vehicles. Metroid Prime doesn't really impress me. This is going to be one sided since you posted in the Gamecube forum though. If your graphics card isn't good enough, then it definately wouldn't be fair to even include the pc graphics. (yes i realize you used an xbox too)

well i have played both pc and xbox versions. there isnt much of a differnce in the games. xbox is better for sound and graphics because it is built to be a high computer and a average computer would weaken the expereance. But to the real topic. Metroid kicks halos donkey all over the place. its whole feel is better. you can have suspence, action, desperation, and a good story. halo has a ok story but it dosent go as deep a metroid. metroid has a more estableshed back ground and more enemys and more power ups. Now i havent played halo 2 very much but it pulls close up to par with metroid but still lacks a few details. when progressing through halo it dosent feel like you have realy made that much progress. but metroid you know you have made progress becuase you keep getting stronger and getting more upgrades. over all metroid still beat Halo.samus could kick master cheifs donkey. samus has way more power ups and has unlimited power in her gun. and shes hot

Okay I think it is weird when you begin to find your video game character (especially Samus) hot.

Actually the version can matter. A lot of times console games and pc games have different features/bonus levels plus your controller preference can be different. I don't know about Halo as I haven't played the pc version though so they might be identicle.

i think metroid was a lot better than halo because of the level of difficulty but i wouldnt recommend it for people that arent experts at shooting games like me

Well in my opinion, both games are pretty good. Both gives U a nice gaming experience. The stories are great also, so its dificult to say which one is better. But anyway, since I prefer GC... Metroid is Better :DPD: Halo is the only good thing about XBox and Microsoft.

I would say I dunno because I have played both games and it bored the crap out of me.I can say that neither would win or lose.Halo is just a normal shooter to me, nothing different.Metroid Prime is an adventure First Person shooter, but I'm still not impressed. And I find it weird at times, there's a save point under a volcano and there's a door in the middle of a forest. All though the level of detail in both of these games are well done.

that dosent sound like a very good reason why you wouldnt like metroid. you have doors to seperate the rooms so that it will be easyer to travel around the area. and if you dont got a save point where you need them then the game is going to suck.

Metroid is the best. I like Metroid cuz you can't run out of ammo for the lasers (ok that is kind of a stupid reason, but.....) The story line was also very good, and the fact that you can get a better ending adds to the replayability of the game cuz you want to find everything you didn't find the first time.

As characters, Samus is much cooler than Master Chief. He just runs around with a gun and some grenades followed by a pack of soldiers. Samus is always alone and uses advanced and very cool technology to explore and conquer her enemies. So I'd say the experience of playing a game like Metroid Prime is much better than Halo because of this aspect.

Metroid Prime easily. Halo disappointed me somewhat after all the hype it got. I mean, Half-Life from 1998 was more enoyable to me than Halo and it was hyped to be the best thing FPS games have ever seen. I'm not saying it's bad, because it's not (though the level design near the middle of the game sucks) and it is quite enjoyable...but Metroid Prime just simply blew it out of the water. I had much more fun playing Prime. I won't really compare the two however, because besides the first person perspective, the two games are completely different.

Metroid is way harder to play. even with the cool lock on feature. and so what if halo has online capibilites. big woop im not very compeative when it comes to first person shooters. mainly because i suck at most of them. i can beat the pc but i suck at fighting people ^_^ im the best at every thing else but fps. maby thats one of the reason i dont realy care for xbox. alot of the games that people choose for xbox are firstperson shooters and i dont like them.

i actually think both games are a little overrated. i own both (have the pc version of halo). i played them both for a few weeks and haven't touched either of them for quite some time. nothing is making me want to go back and play either again.
