If I'm going to have to pay a nominal fee everymonth to play a game, I would rather pay for Starcraft. Warcraft is ok, but beneith the surface it's just another fantasy RPG that is a direct rip-off of D&D. I would really like to see someone try and make a decent Sci-Fi MMO. At least one that doesn't completely suck. Anarchy, Phantasy Star, Star Wars, Matrix Online I'm looking at you.

It would be awesome to make a World of Starcraft but agin, with WoW out and doin awesome.... why?..... maybe after a while cuz Warcraft has made it to #3 now and Starcraft is barely at two so it would be a while to even imagine the details of it..... but it would be awsome to make a World of Starcraft

Starcraft is great and all, and I've seen my boyfriend play Warcraft, but making a World of Starcraft would not be wise. It would be cool, and they even announced that they would as an April Fools joke, but I think that's as far as it goes. Considering how well WoW has been doing and how much revenue they're making off that game, it would be detrimental to Blizzard to make a World of Starcraft. Developing and supporting a World of Starcraft would be costly and probably not worth the small following they would get at the beginning, not to mention the people that would ditch WoW to play WoStarcraft. WoW is doing completely fine revenue wise right now, and Blizzard doesn't need another MMO to make more money anyway. It's just not worth it at this point.Blizzard needs to focus on Starcraft 2 right now anyway; at this rate they'll never release the game.

Blizzard is currently working on a new "Next-Gen" MMO not based on any of their current IPs. Regardless of what they make, it's unwise as they'll be cutting people from one and gaining for another.

No.That would be cannibalizing existing WoW subscribership, would be pounced on by the media as a uninspired moneygrab.Blizz has an culture of innovation. If WoW didn't exist, than a starcraft MMO may be plausible, but it does so it won't.More likely, they'll try to revisit ghost to explore the SC universe in that way.

That sounds like a really fun idea for an MMORPG. I've always preferred the sci-fi genre to the fantasy one usually used for RPGs.

Doubt it.Starcraft is meant to be an RTS. A lone space marine won't do much against the zerg hordes, no matter what. No magical level ups.Warcraft, before WoW, had some rpg elements, yanno? YOu have magic, you have growing tougher, etc.

I highly doubt it like the above poster said. A lone zergling wont be able to do anything against a battalion of battlecruisers or siege tanks. SC ghost was a good start for a single player action rpg but they halted the development to make way for SC2 because Starcraft is a fast paced RTS, definitely not worth playing alone.
