Picked up Graidus V yesterday and R-Type Final a few weeks back, I love them. Theres this real good freeware game called G-type, I know its off topic but chek it out if you like shootersmost not 3-d shooters that go on console are overlooked though which is sad because games like R-type, Gradius, Ikaruga etc. are generally good, but the genre is dying
Someone obviously doesn't understand the purpose of this thread. It's under-rated and overlooked, which Jak does not go under. back on topic, i though Gladious was underrated, and SMT:N, Gradius 5 and R-Type Final were overlookedThe Jak and Daxter series...all 3 games are good but not many have played it

Oh yeah, I forgot about that game, that game was FUN.ALthough it was rated high, it did not sell very well, and that would be Beyond Good & Evil.

I played Shattered Soldier, and truthfully, I didn't like it all that much. Sure, it was fun for a bit, but it was too short, and some of the boss battles were just aggravating. And I certainly know what contra is - I remember playing the original in the arcade and on the NES with my brothers. Granted, I might be a little older than the typical user here.As for under-rated and overlooked games, I guess the one that comes to mind now is Monster Hunter, mostly because I have been playing it constantly lately. The only place I could find it was online, and none of my gaming friends had heard of it before. I guess it's a little more popular now that Monster Hunter Freedom 2 came out for the PSP last August, and when I play online the server has a couple hundred players still, even though the game is about three years old.contra shattered soldier...you have to play this game (two players for the maxium experience) i can't understand why konami switched the formula in neo contra. but none of you probably know what contra is to begin with...sigh
i tell you, you're missing out.
