Nobody's mentioned Culdcept, which only had a print run of 12000 so it may not be easy to get anymore, but it's amazingly addictive. It's a card-based RPG that plays out like a board game. It's not graphically amazing or anything but there is no other game on the PS2 that draws me back to it like that.Other games with odd mechanics that are worth trying out (they're all fun, but you have to have the right mindset in order to appreciate them) - Stretch Panic, Magic Pengel, Mister Mosquito, Guitarooman, Unlimited SaGa, Rez.

The Jak and Daxter series...all 3 games are good but not many have played it :D

Someone obviously doesn't understand the purpose of this thread. It's under-rated and overlooked, which Jak does not go under. back on topic, i though Gladious was underrated, and SMT:N, Gradius 5 and R-Type Final were overlooked

most not 3-d shooters that go on console are overlooked though which is sad because games like R-type, Gradius, Ikaruga etc. are generally good, but the genre is dying

Picked up Graidus V yesterday and R-Type Final a few weeks back, I love them. Theres this real good freeware game called G-type, I know its off topic but chek it out if you like shooters :D.Only like 80 ships left to unlock on R-Type >_>...

Not necessarily under-rated by those who played it, Gitaroo Man as pointed out by Tiller, my favorite music game ever. Also the Wild Arms series, Chaos Legion, The Legend of Legaia games, and Ring of Red which isn't that great but its still really fun, and Ikaruga was really good too.

ALthough it was rated high, it did not sell very well, and that would be Beyond Good & Evil.

My fav. overlooked game has to be Eternal Eyes, I'm guessing it was fairly good in Japan, but here...well, let's just say they're hard to find...but I loved it!

I agree with anyone who said Time Splitters series. They're one of my favorite multiplayer games ever available on PS2. MapCreator is on point, and theres so much you can do.

Final Fantasy XII, I Love the final fantasy series, but I don't really like FF XII. FF X is much more better :(

Star Ocean: The Second Story may have been a good game, but Til the End of Time was so horrible, I had trouble forcing myself to finish it. I think Chrono Cross was under-rated. Also FFXI was under-rated.Tenchu was definitely under-rated. I love Tenchu games.

GUARDIANS CRUSADE! This was my first RPG. Back when I was so young I was afraid to fight the boss monsters and thought I could beat the game by running away from everything >=( But now I've finished it at least 5 times, all with the same name. Tigi and Baby.

contra shattered soldier...you have to play this game (two players for the maxium experience) i can't understand why konami switched the formula in neo contra. but none of you probably know what contra is to begin with...sigh :) i tell you, you're missing out.

I played Shattered Soldier, and truthfully, I didn't like it all that much. Sure, it was fun for a bit, but it was too short, and some of the boss battles were just aggravating. And I certainly know what contra is - I remember playing the original in the arcade and on the NES with my brothers. Granted, I might be a little older than the typical user here.As for under-rated and overlooked games, I guess the one that comes to mind now is Monster Hunter, mostly because I have been playing it constantly lately. The only place I could find it was online, and none of my gaming friends had heard of it before. I guess it's a little more popular now that Monster Hunter Freedom 2 came out for the PSP last August, and when I play online the server has a couple hundred players still, even though the game is about three years old.

(mostly) art blog that I need to update more often.

Steam - if I'm online, I'm probably on Steam.

Minecraft server: minecraft.mouseandcat.com. Usually running from ~9:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. EST. Currently in the process of setting up plugins for it. If you have any questions about it, ping me on Steam.

3DS friend code: 3454-1226-9695. Let me know if you add me.
