The game was fine, storyline and battle system are good (the battle system kinda like Zelda's). The growth of your character can be controlled by choosing the job (or something), each time you level up. The enemies are interesting (especially Devius, keep circling around). The letdown of this game for me was the not so usefull NPC that follows you around. They don't know when to attack/dodge. Get killed so many times and you gotta revive them up just to let them die again.Other than that, its all good.

I find the game extreamly satisfying. I love the whole series pesonally, great battle system, awesome story, and great weapon and skill systems. However i have found one problem with it. I have the vbaconfig file and i've tried several diferent save styles at the statues (eeprom, auto, spram, etc) and it always says it can't save so i save the states, other than that I love the game.

It's an odd game to say the least, a cross between the original Final Fantasy and Secret of Mana for SNES

How's Sword of Mana?? I find it a bit difficu'lt

Yeah I gotta agree with you. It is difficult for me when I was playing it first time but once you get used to it, there shouldn't be of a problem. The only thing I hate about the game is that you have to keep on swaping weapon and magic to kill or destroy certain type of monster.

I like the game it is pretty good as they all are fun and a little challenging but not impossible. The whole mana series games are good and it would be nice if they brought them all to the GBA or at least the states.

It's good and fun, but sometimes the dialogue had me asking "why?"If you're into Secret of Mana, you should definitely check it out.

This is like the first Of Mana/Evermore game that somehow got tedious.I liked the spells/spirits, and jumping in this game though, but only two characters... I can't really manage that much.

I liked sword of mana (not as good as Legend of mana, but then again one can not compare PSX and GBA anyhow). Anyway, on to the game..Graphics:Quite nice looking. Colourful and animation is perfectly smooth.Sound:Fairly nice soundtrack, but nothing really memorable IMOGameplay:There's two major issues I have here. One is the fact that you got to keep swapping weapons like in crystalis for NES to destroy certain barriers and also there are many enemies which are invulnerable to physical attacks (which makes so sense since honestly stabbing a zombie would generally do damage when you think of it). You can only attack these with magic and your magic is WEAK!, re-generates too slowly, and is used up on these kind of enemies quickly. The second thing I could have been improved was your assistant character. I just let them die. They are completely USELESS! The AI is so bad that they just ram themselves into enemies until they get killed. Plus they don't level up.Overall:Although, I just wrote a huge paragraph of gameplay issues, it shouldn't stop you from trying this out. It's enjoyable and has a nice storyline. Pay little attention to details like above and believe me, if you don't know what an item is for, you probably won't need it XD Have Fun o.O

Despite its similarities in name, Sword of Mana isn't exactly a sequel to the classic SNES adventure, Secret of Mana. It's actually a rethinking and retelling of a past Game Boy classic RPG created by Square, Final Fantasy Adventure released a decade ago. Sword of Mana, while sharing the same storyline and characters, has been enhanced with improved graphics and sound, as well as much more impressive creatures and extended challenges. It's almost like an entirely new adventure. The game also features link-up support that will enhance the single-player adventure; the more friends that players link up to, the more powerful the special "Amigo" attack will become during the battles.

Well,Funny you should ask. I just happen to be playing it again as we speak. As you might be able to tell from my name, I'm a huge "Mana" fan. Actually, I should share a little history. The series is easier followed if you look at the Japanese market where there are similar titles.Seiken Densetsu, which I'm told from a number of sources (one of which being an excelent article on Wikipedia) translates as "Holy Sword Legend," was released in the United States of America as Final Fantasy Adventure.Seiken Densetsu II was released in the U.S.A. under the title Secret of Mana and for anyone who enjoys RPG's or Adventure games, this is a must-play! It essentially defines the series and is the reason for the recent development of new games for the series.Seiken Densetsu III was never released in the U.S.A., but was so popular (many say due to Secret of Mana's success) that there are good legal ROM's available that fans have translated into English. This game has a little more of a Final Fantasy feel than the rest of the games in the series if you ask me. Since I don't care for Final Fantasy games that much, I tend to not enjoy Seiken Densetsu III's game-play. The story is worth playing the game for, however. What many have referred to as the forth game in the canon, Legend of Mana, does not, in fact, have a number attached to it. This game is more of a gaiden, or side-kick to the series. Seiken Densetsu IV is actually in production now.All this leads me to say that Sword of Mana came out as a re-make of Final Fantasy Adventure which was really the first game in the Holy Sword Legend series. The best part of the re-make, in my estimation, is that the story is enhanced because of the power of the Game Boy Advance versus the Game Boy. If you are a long-time fan of the Holy Sword Legend series, this is a must-play. It will fill in cracks in your understanding of the story-line found in Secret of Mana. You may want to start with that game so that you can play the series in chronological order, or you may want to start with Secret of Mana. I'll leave that up to you. Either way, check out Sword of Mana. You won't be disappointed!Happy playing, treeofmana
