Now open your render file and get it in your sig the way you want it.I chose this render:
Now to blend! Duplicate your render and set the one on the top to hard light and the one under to overlay.Since your render is now semi-transparent, brush under the it with black or white until it looks good with the overall lighting
Now to finish the job, I suggest that you brush with low opacity over the render and try leveling it a bit. This is what it end up like:
Hope you guys liked it!

2.Now duplicate the layer of your pic. Then go to filter/blur/gaussian blur and blur it to aproximatively 4pix. After that change the layer type of the blurred layer to overlay:
3.If you want to add a bit of action look in your sig repeat the 2nd action but with filter/blur/directional blur and blur it in the angle you find best (you can play with the opacity to arrange the effect properly) :
Now your sig may look too dark for a dayly scene. 4.So a bit of positive leveling is in order: go to layer/new adjustment layer/level and move the middle bar to the left until satisfied:
5. Now you might think the water looks too white. Its time for a bit of color balance!Go to layer/new adjustment layer/color balance and set the light, medium and dark tones to colors that fits your sig the best. (In my case I will use blue and cyan light tone, Green and yellow medium tone and a slight red dark tone. ):
5.5 If needed you can add contrast in layer/new adjustment layer/lighting and contrast but in my case its flashy enough. (never overdo it with the contrast)6. Now its still not over! To give the finishing touch to your photomanip base, go to layer/new adjustment layer/ Hue and Saturation and then play around. With hue you can switch the colors of your sig and you might get a plesant surprise. After that use the saturation option to add or remove color to your sig. If its too low it will look a black and white photo, if its too high it will look like a painting on which it rained. But be carefull though, do not play with luminosity, that one isn't good.
Then its up to you, use brushes that fits your pic, (I recommend star brushes for almost any photomanips)add a nice blended text and maybe add a sybol that matches the rest. What I came up with is only a basic photomanip, its not the end result. Try out everything out, theres always the history window to clear up your mess Posted 09 October 2005 - 12:17 PM

Then select Edit/make a pattern and name your pattern.
Now to use the scan lines:In your sig or wherever take the polygon or rectangular lasso and select the place where you want to add the scan lines. (If you hold shift with the polygon lasso it will do a straight line)After you finished grab the stamp tool and select your scan line pattern and just fill in the selected form with it.
In order to blend it in a real sig change its layer mode to overlay or lower opacity. Here is what some random blended scan lines looks like:

Lower opacity means to make the layer transparentIn order to blend it in a real sig change its layer mode to overlay or lower opacity.

(Doing this will make easier the making of brushset. You don't want to get some random abstract brushes in your tech brushset don't you?)Ok now start off by opening a sig sized canvas (Just so you don't make them too big by mistake)Open the layer window in Window/Layer and create a new layer atop the white canvas. Then dump the white canvas so you have a transparent BG. (Sometimes the white canvas is locked, just double click on the lock and you can delete it) (Note: you can't delete the white bg if there is no other existing layers in the canvas)You should have this when you finished the first step:
Then its up to you to make the shape. Be creative, since it is tech brushes, you can use lines, scan lines, filters and such to make good shapes. But whatever you do, do it black. Don't worry the user of the brushes will be able to change color to whatever else. Its just that black stands out of the transparent bg.(If your shape contains many layers, link them before selecting by clicking on the small box circled in the screeny below)
When you finished your shape select it with the rectangular lasso:
And then click on edit/create brush and there you go. You can now see your brush in the brush window. You can keep making brushes until you want to quit. When you are finished, open the brush window and click on the small arrow:
Then click on save brushes and name your brushset. Don't worry, if you want to add brushes later you will be able to. Just open the brush set, add the brush and just save it over.

Create a new layer on top and grab the lasso tool (make sure the layer is selected)Select the entire canvas with the lasso and go to Edit/stroke Begin by making a 2 pix white border:
And then Go back to edit/stroke and add a 1pix black border on top:
Then set your border layer to overlay and get your result!
If your sig is grunge and if your 2pix border doesn't blend nicely try lowering opacity instead of changing the layer mode to overlay.
