Even with the announcement of new Halo projects, the principal trilogy won't be forgotten from our minds as fast as we may expect...

Halo forever!!

I would say pokemon yellow to give them a better knowledge of the first 150 pokemon, that way he wont forget the names and will probably know how his dad played videogames. That would be a good memory to have.On the other hand, if you want them to play the best of the best i would say cristal.

I'd say start with Pokemon Red, Blue or Yellow. Yellow you can get all 3 starters from Red and Blue while still in Kanto but you still gotta trade with both Red and Blue to get all 151 pokemon.Red has all of the cool pokemon in them and Blue has no big thing but it's still fun to play.

RED, BLUE, AND YELLOWI AM A PURIST AND THINK WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO THE GAME IS WAY TOO MUCH! ADDING POKEMON, REMOVING POKEMON, COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS, JUST TOO MUCH! I COULD HANDLE GOLD, SILVER AND CRYSTAL (no removed Pokemon), BUT OTHER THAN THAT STICK TO THE ORIGINAL 151! Now if you don't want to be stuck up like me, I'd probably go with one of the latest one because it probably does have an assortment of good features and options not available in the previous versions.

I would play Fire red/Leaf green first. Both of them are basically remakes of the orignal but with ALL of the pokemon available and a few neat areas added on. After that I would probably play gold/silver.

Crystal (or Gold/Silver)! Because you also get to go back into Kanto, and it was the first pokemon game where you could choose to be either gender and the pokemon graphics moved.

technically the original blue and red would probably be the best to start off. since its the most simple then probably yellow. i wouldnt really go past the first 151 since it just makes a little too complicated when you first start off.

Crystal's definately the best for GBC, followed by Yellow. I really loved having Pikachu follow me and being able to build up a relationship with it, but Crystal has more of a plot and subquests, plus you can play as a girl which is always a good thing
