><" Isn't this the "Other Handhelds" forum? He might be asking for a Pokemon game for the regular Gameboy/Gameboy Color, since there is a separate forum for GBA games. Or I could be wrong. o-oI would just follow the order they came out. o-o But for a little kid, I'd probably recommend Yellow version for the GB/C, since there's a cute little Pikachu that'll follow you around, and you can talk to it.GBA-wise, probably Fire Red/Leaf Green. A nice remake of the original Red/Blue.

I'd say Fire Red/Leaf Green. Heck, even the original Red or Blue would be nice. That way when they look for more Pokemon they won't be playing older games, they'll always be getting more advanced with each installment

I suppose the Silver or Gold version. They're not as primitive as the Red&Blue version (I think that children would get bored if they played such a dull game: I mean, nowadays everything seems to be so modern... they wouldn't be satisfied playing it, they just complain...[heck, like my little bro!])So, Gold&Silver are ok to start: good graphics and playability and it takes you a lot of time to finish it.

Call me old school, but I vote for red or blue. Maybe yellow if you have a GB color!

Fire red and leaf green are really really fun...the graphics are excellent and there's the VS seeker which makes it really easy to train your pokemon...

Either FireRed/LeafGreen or Emerald - FR/LG for the original game with a new feel, and Emerald for the most up-to-date version. Although, Crystal is pretty satisfying.

Because they do not give the best idea of how polished the franchise has become. Perhaps FireRed/LeafGreen, but even Emerald is more advanced than them.

Either get Emerald or Fire Red and Leaf Green because these are the newest and have the best features of the new pokemon games.

Get fire red/leaf green. The extra features (like the vs. seeker) are very useful, and the games are a good intro to the pokemon universe (as they are remakes of the original red/blue)

Pokemon Gold, Silver are fairly easy. But for good graphics and a good gameplay, try Pokemon Ruby Sapphire Emerald. One of those three
