sega almost went down when it brought out the sega saturn. after that they made the saturn, with did not sell at all in belgium.Sega's best game is sonic but the newer versions aren't that fun anymore. they are going to fast to play.I don't think sega will be making new consoles just because they do not have the money and the have a bad name.the best sega console they ever made was the sega master system and the mega drive :D . Those games are still a lot of fun to play

i dont think sega will ever die, they are a household name and even tho they only make games now they will keep going, it would be a sad day if they stopped making games.

The console manufacturers don't make money on console sales, only on licensing the Titles for them. As long as they continue to release great games like they always have, I'm sure they'll be around for a long time to come.

let me straighten this out for all of you, acording to what Ive heard sega went into bankrupsy and had to merge with nintendo for a while, thats why most of their games are for nintendo, now sega is making games for the PS2, Game Cube, Xbox and the DS and other hand helds, sega wont be making any new systems as far as I know. they might once they get enough money and become a big corperation again.

Sega is far from dead.. they are still making a killing in Japan, on their software titles for the available systems, and on Arcade machines. And you know those games where you guide the claw to pick up a toy? There are thousands of those in Japan, and Sega makes most of them. "UFO Catcher" is what they're called. Actually the consoles were only a small portion of the overall Sega company.

i do remember one thing.
it took hours and hours but.
by the time i was done with it.
i was so involved. i didn't even know what to think.
i carried it around with me for days. and days.
playing little games.
like. not looking at it for a whole day.
and then. looking at it.
to see if I still liked it.
i did.

That would be INSANELY awesome if Sega did just surprise everyone and announce a new console. I would probably buy it too!! For all we know they could be coming up with a new master plan right now to create the ultimate innovative fun console we've ever seen!! ...........or they could just be making games. But even still, back when they had consoles out they were making a decent amount of games. Now that they don't have a console to worry about you'll expect more games to come out right? Yet even fewer games are coming out....just what is Sega up to?

Console wise i'd like to say no there not dead, i'd just about give anything for a decent sega console that'd hand microsoft and sony there heads on a platter... oh the glory of it. But in reality unless they are keeping things amazeingly hush hush i don't think they will be releaseing another console.
